Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi - Anyone who is doing the Connemara Marathon found cheap and cheerful accommodation for April 09? Ideally I am looking for a quite B & B near the train station sub Euro 100 price.

If you have any recommendations please let me know (I have searched the boards but did not see anything which fit my criteria - lots of Hotels and a couple of hostels but ideally I want a quite B & B )

    Thanks

2years ago we got a really good (lucky)deal in jury's I think. But saying that we drove up that morning and stayed on overnight. The actual night before the marathon was very expensive. 3 years ago I tried everything and it would have been cheaper to stay at the Ritz in Paris. It's the same again this year, evrything is gone through the roof for the weekend of connemarathon.
I'm going to head up that morning run the marathon and head back home again. It'll be a round trip of about 150 miles.

So either drive up that morning and stay that night or be prepared to dig deep.

Hey I'm having the same problem finding somewhere,
It says on the website that you have to pick up your number the day before in Galway City which is annoying as I'd just arrive that morning otherwise.
lidl-breaks.ie have some deals though so I'll prob get something there,
Is anybody going to 10th aniversary party after it?

Lads during the week I eventually got sorted with B and B in Cliften..( not v computer literate so cant put up links )

I booked the Dun Ri guesthouse through GoIreland.com.. Its 40e per night B and B 4 single room plus 16e Booking fee .. Up 2 this the cheapest single room available was 60e per night.. Registration for Ultra/ Marathon/ Half also takes place in Cliften..

Any B&B on College Road in the city would do grand. There are lots of them there!

Stayed in the Buttermilk Lodge last year, a short walk to the bus collection point in Clifden. Lady of the house was obliging enough to get up early and cook me porridge, for my early start for the ultra. Nice and clean (and quiet).

If you're planning on staying in Clifden, you should make up your mind sooner rather than later, as the hotels and B&Bs tend to fill up rather quickly (but you'll always get a spot further out of town). Usually good craic to be had in Clifden after the race.

Last time I did Conn I stayed in Gannon's in Clifden. Excellent B&B!

    Clifden in general is great.

All the 'self-proclaimed' cool people are in Galway.

Clifden is the place to be, but don't tell everyone:D
