Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Curious to see what kinda thanks this photo gets. A few people have seen it since it was taken, and think it's a great photo. Have heard nothing but compliments on it. Personally I don't see anything in it. I think it's quite bland, or something. Not what I wanted from it.

    (on the other hand, my previous photo on this thread doesn't seem too loved by anyone in reality, yet I'm quite fond of it).

    Not sure what you mean about nobody liking your 'earlier' photo?

    It has at this stage- a full line of 'thanks'.

    :)

    Oh, I realise that, what I meant was people in real life. A few friends were in my house earlier and one was messing at the PC. went mooching through a folder of photos, of which both the birds and water shot were in.

    I was expecting great comments on the photo of the birds, but no one really cared about it. The water/rock photo, which I don't care for at all, got lots of good feedback.

    I know everyone's different and all, but it just confused me.

    I like this thread and I often use "Thanks" as a way to measure my opinion against other people's. For example, I posted this photo before;

    3D3B8559DE51440796000E76A625C118-0000333410-0002069051-00800L-042FE82F983545D092E5EB39E3837BEF.jpg

    A photo that I was delighted with when I took it, and to be honest, I still think it's a great shot. Yet, when posted here, it didn't recieve a single thanks.

    I just find it interesting how my opinion differs from everyone elses. I don't think it's down to bias either (as I say, I don't care for that water/rocks shot, so it's not like I just love every photo that I have taken, myself).

    EDIT: Also, on Facebook, the water/rocks photo has gotten liked by two people, but the birds haven't been liked at all.

    This is what you might call my first ever portrait. I bought my dad a 1000D for Christmas and we went to the Botanic gardens on Sat. I was using the 100mm 2.8 macro and took this as he turned a corner. I think he certainly looks the part and is taking it all very seriously :)
