Not much, considering these days everyone downloads their music to their MP3 player.

I know the Shannon Roxy has closed but is it the same in Ennis? Afaik it was the ticketmaster that was keeping it afloat, not cd and dvd sales. So where'll the ticketmaster outlet be going? I for one haven't bought tickets outside of online in years so maybe the ticketmaster branch is a thing of the past aswell.

Record shops are on the way out. I wouldn't expect the HMV chain to last much longer the way things are going. We'll just be left with specialist ones like Custys or the one opposite where the Record Rack was.

I find you can pick up a lot of excellent, and very cheap, stuff in the charity shops these days.

Roxy records didnt have Ticketmaster that was The Record Rack. The Record Rack closed months ago and they still have ticketmaster upstairs.

Though I like to download my music to my IPod, I also like to go and buy the CD, something nice about having a shelf full of CD's.

Roxy went bust. All locations are closed. They also owned the new 2 euro shop there, that now is closed as well.

Two more empty buildings that won't be filled any time soon.

Also, the 'new' record shop across from the old record rack is actually record rack. The owners opened it as a speciality shop for people who choose not to download MP3's and still consume records and what-not.

I dont believe it we now have 2 meteor shops in ennis. and if you count xtra vision thats 3. godzillia. i think i would have rather seen the shop locked up than emobile moving in. the town wont have a good shop left. just full of mobiles and chemists

Not surprised roxy closed, they had an appalling collection in there , i gave up for a finish, anything i ever went looking for in there was never there and when i used to ask the lads behind the counter they would be of zero assistance.

ahh id say they will be sticking around for quite sometime. when was the last time you seen a mobile shop move outta town(excluding the eircom shop they did landlines). o2, vodafone, carfone , have been there as long as i can remember and dont think meteor, 3 or this emobile crowd are going to be shifting. theres money to be made. they will make it:D.

in fact when did they all open 02, voda, carfone?
