Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

MM is on the attack, EG on defence.

    Enjoyable so far though :)

Not sure how well this would have worked with 3 people involved though  It wouldn't be so freeflowing for sure

Martin is doing well but it won't make a difference when the voting takes place.

Agree this is boring but you've obviously not watched the normal Vincent Browne show.....it's far from boring!

Martin needs to shave the head, his thinning combover is lol.

He needs to go down the Pep Guardiola route, not the Monty Burns route.

Disappointed at Gilmore's performance so far to be honest

MM rehearsing for his opposition role.

Martin's weak spot is his hands (too much movement) - really need a body language expert here tonight.

Martin reminds me of a cat burglar ,I can just see him tip toeing out of tv3 later.

MM is an awful interrupting, aggressive pr*ck.

    "I didn't interrupt you"?!?

Did Mickey really just say that??? FFS

Dear god Gilmore is getting roasted. Very poor from him.

Martin on the offensive now, doing well.
Gilmore another strong rebuttal, seems to take a swipe at Kenny there too

I think everyone agrees the FF is going to blasted in the polls. But who are you going to vote in. Gilmore he is debating like a schoolboy, my father is bigger than yours, or Kenny, h god the thought.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,745 ✭✭✭Eliot Rosewater

Micheal Martin is doing very well. I'm not that happy about that fact though, as it will feed into this notion that FF have been reborn.

these are two muppets all we are missing is Kermit from Castlebar!!

Browne is allowing too much talking over each other by both.
It's like a Primetime panel chaired by Miriam.

    Gilmore is weak so far.
I am more interested in teh program teasing out Labour policies even if the by-product is a few people decide Martin's the man for them.
FF election policies are irrelevant to me.

Just watching TV3 there, sure isnt Martin walking all over that fool Gilmore. Martin has clearly won this debate.

So far neither of them have said exactly what they would do....all rhetoric!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,733 ✭✭✭Duckworth_Luas

Martin can say whatever he likes. He has less chance of being in the next government than Gerry Adams. You'd swear he has been in opposition.

    Gilmore has been disappointing.

This seems totally pointless without Kenny.

Bet Gilmore wishes Kenny was there now :D

Poor Vinny must be really restraining himself, the party leaders never come on his show!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,092 ✭✭✭Le King

Martin will wipe Gillmore and Kenny clean. But it won't make a difference for FF because the voters want them out.

Gillmore/Kenny scares me. The country is fcuked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,645 ✭✭✭✭nesf

Gilmore is being shown to be the economically illiterate leader that he is. Lengthening the time to reduce the deficit doesn't make things easier, it just increases the debt burden for the next 20 years making our time out of recovery harder meaning either higher taxes or lower spending once we bring the budget back in line.

Really missing FG's policy being discussed here though.

Micheal Martin looks like a proper leader here, you have a labour leader who can't debate and a Fine Gael leader that couldn't care less about a debate on the countrys economy, this country is ****ED.

the saddest thing is that people would vote for Martin as prob the most credible/able leader were he not with FF.

All Gilmore can do (was it ever in doubt), is remind us all of the mess FF made.

It is kind of sad and to be honest if Kenny were there, I imagine Martin would completely mop up.

Go on Vinny, stick it to them

    Gilmore seems flustered.
Micheal Martin is an infinitely better communicator than his predecessor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,181 ✭✭✭bryaner

I certainly aint an FF supporter but Martin is using Gilmore as a mop to clean the floor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Very strange fromat - head to head

Martin not going to win many votes but doing damage to Gilmore on Labour's economic policies. Labour to fall in the next poll with SF and FG to benefit and FF to remain the same.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, well way out west in carrick, the pheasant is in his element, above in the town hall

Kenny must be soory he stayed away as mm is wiping the floor with gilmore and possible gaining a bit of support for his party

  • Registered Users Posts: 124 ✭✭wyndhurst

Jaysus, MM is wiping the floor with him.

If we could have him a Taoiseach without the rest of the FF muppets we'd be much better off.
As the leader of the country we need someone who can 'sell the dream' and create some badly needed confidence.

    Inda must be bricking it....

Anyone know who this clown is? Another FF voter. Someone name and shame him .

You really are a deluded and idiotic individual.

I can only imagine you are mentally challenged if you are suppporting FF.

    Gilmore coming back.

No FF'er can defend the bailout...

Gillmore/Kenny scares me. The country is fcuked.

FG/Labour are still unknown quantities, I find it unlikely that they could fcuk things up as much as FF have. Distrust/dislike of FG/Labour seems to be the primary reason that some people are still planning on voting for FF, which sickens me.

There's an obvious massive lack of political talent in this country, the best thing we can do right now is boot out those that have proven themselves to be useless and cross our fingers and give the other crowd a chance.

Hate to admit it but Martin is debating well. Maybe Enda was wise to keep away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,616 ✭✭✭✭Sand

Yeah, Martin is beating Gilmore around the place, but Gilmore's quite awful anyway so thats not too tricky.

Mind you its going on to the banking guarantee now, so Martin is going to have to defend the stupidest decision in the history of the state. Hes going to suffer as a result.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81 ✭✭Deepwell

MM must have bought new shoes - still seems to have label on the sole or maybe its his policy document.....

I reckon FF will get a bump from this. A lot of people are looking for any reason to vote for Fianna Fáil.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,303 ✭✭✭ionapaul

Martin is definitely a much better debater than Gilmore (or Kenny) - as would Haughey, Cowen and Ahern be in the same situation. I really hope that people don't base their voting preferences on power of rhetoric or ability to best an opponent in a debate; that would be beyond retarded! We don't need the smoothest talker or better liar in government; we've done that long enough and the country is already completely fcuked as a result.

I agree with this, its actually a pity he is in FF. He's surprisingly better than I thought. He is coming across better than Gilmore unfortunately, but I still will never vote FF

Gilmore direct hitting now - Ff selectively quote honohan and have done for teh past year.

That Gilmore needs the bailout of the banks to come back in this debate speaks volumes tbh.
