Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DVD Drive problem - possible conflict with mobile broadband

    Hi,

Maybe someone can help with this problem. I have a laptop running Vista and the cd burner has become very tempermental in the past few weeks. It won't burn to blank cds or dvds like it used to, although it does work occasionally with CD/Dvd RWS, usually when I reboot the comp and make sure the mobile broandband dongle is not plugged in. It will, however, usually play regular dvds and cds. Now, with regards to the mobile broadband, I use Vodafone, and I am convinced that this problem has only really started since I started using the mobile broadband. As mentioned, it's a usb dongle but it shows up in My Computer as a CD Drive F:, which doesn't look right to me considering it is usb. The software i usually use to burn is CD Burner XP, but have also used Windows Media Player and Roxio without success. I have even tried plugging in an external DVD drive but that now refuses to play or burn anything at all, even though it works fine with other computers. It's starting to drive me nuts. Please help

    Thanks

i have a usb mobile dongle and it too shows up as a drive in my computer.... that is normal.

as for your dvd drive is it possible your drive needs a cleaner disk? or have u tried the dongle in a different usb port?

lastly have u installed sp2 for vista? vista is notoriously bad unless sp2 is installed.
