Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
I have installed the silvercrest fta and am having problem with certain channnells on astra 19.5. I need the tv5 monde channell. There are two of them and also france 24 english and french versions. Until recently all were working well. Now I only get one of the tv5 mondes not the europe one. The signal says 84 percent and perfect and when i go to the france 24 the signal jumps all over the place and pic is all over the place. Dish is 80 and signal seem to be bang on astra 19.5. What do I need to do? All help greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

It says here http://www.flysat.com/tv-fr.php thatTv5 is on Hotbird 13 east not astra 19.2
It could be dish out of align with recent winds or your LNB needs a slight Skew or it might be Interferance from Cordless/Dect phone in your house or the silvercrest receiver could have a tuner Fault.

TV5 Monde FBS is on Astra 1L, the other channels you refer to (TV5 Monde Europe & both France 24s) are on Astra 1M.
Both satellites are at 19.2 east so maybe it's a slight misalignment?

    Hi Scaller,

I moved furniture recently and positioned my phone close to the box and that seems to be it. Moved the phone and presto all gone away. Thank you so much!!. Peter thanks for the info on satellite also i didn't know that. Seems I must be picking up both sattelites at the same time which is great for her as she is french and loves to get a bit of home.;) I wonder if i might bother you a bit more. I have a motor attached since last year and wanted to view the bbc and all other ones on astra 28 but gave up with this. It moved the dish but stopped on nothing. I am no professional and all help needs to be a bit detailed if possible. Thanks for all help so far. Your making me a hit with the wife so far lol.

Good to see you sorted the problem.
As for receiving both satellites, the dish will see all sats. at same position as one, provided they have similar beams. That's why we simply refer to 'Astra 1 @19e' although there are 4 satellites in that position. (I did wonder how misalignment could take out only one)

On larger dishes, say 1.1m you can misalign to lose one satellite. On Sky/Freesat above a certain size you can only align on 2A/2B/2D Cluster OR Eurobird 1. With a 80cm you need to be aligned to get best balance of 28.2 and 28.5
