Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why does the weather in east coast america differ from west coast america? i was looking at tempatures in the US today, New York is experiencing between -3 and -9 and San Francisco between 17 and 7 celsius. This is pretty warm for winter compared to New York. Why so?

The weather on western sides of continents always tends to be warmer than on the eastern sides.
This is due to natural sea currents and wind directions that occur around the globe.
The same goes for Eurasia. China, japan and Korea all have cold winters. While at the other side of the landmass in Europe it is significantly warmer.

Westerlies blowing in from the Pacific are mild, buy the time they pass through central America the cool and bring the cold air with them.
