It's working grand for me on the 50mb package in Dublin 15. I am using Google DNS servers also.

it works for me and if you think by turning off your modem to get a new ip address it doesnt work

Ive had the same ip address for 3 year with UPC

Works fine here (Dublin 3 with EPC2203) but do get the timeouts on the traceroute.

About the IP addresses, at one stage I had the same IP for about a year but have had it change several times since then. I've often gone away for about a week and get a new IP when powering back on. Initially I kept the same IP even when the modem was off for days on end.

Have you any kind of firewall software installed?

Try resetting your browser or using an alternative browser.

Failing that, check that you're not using some weird DNS settings.

UPC's DNS isn't doing it.

You could try using Google's public DNS servers:

i have default dns servers etc.

All not working for me, i'm on upc 30meg in the south Dublin city area. But these sites load fine on the iPhone with o2's 3g connection.

I always suspected UPC were blocking "isohunt" and "the box" on my internet conenction as we were heavy downloaders. Every other site worked perfectly. This was going on for a few weeks before i rang them and asked them straight out were they slowing the sites down to curb our downloading, which they denied. I said we would switch if they werent fixed. The next day the 2 sites were back working normally. Coincidence?
