GSM unit for cable router

Hi I am looking at UPC for my broadband and phone line. My house alarm (an Astec) is hooked up to my landline at present. It's not linked to a monitoring service, it just calls my mobile. UPC have told me that if I get a GSM unit then I should be able to keep this. Does anyone know how these work? How would I connect it to…

Hi

I also want to keep sky tv so can I use the GSM unit for this and would I need to buy one for each sky box?
