There are open trials to all rugby players who are students. From either the union or league codes of rugby. For the ireland students rugby league team. Portarlington RFC. Sunday 13th Feb. 11.45am till 2.30pm. Clubhouse open for the Ireland v France game on TV at 3pm.
To qualify you must be in part time or full time further education or higher education.
RUGBY LEAGUE IRELAND are looking for players with a high calibre rugby skill set, a good physique & high level of fitness.
If you think you make the grade, come along.
NO RUGBY LEAGUE EXPERIENCE IS NECESARY, the RLI are looking to enhance the squad with some new blood.
The team will be travelling to Widnes at the end of March for the Britain & Ireland regionals and then travelling to Glasgow at Easter for the student 4 nations championships.
There will be opportunities then for possible selection to the Great Briatain & Ireland Academic Lions to play Australia away.
This could be the start of a rugby pathway to a professional career in rugby league.

Why was this moved? Surely the idea was to attract union players to give league a go. Unlikely they will see this opportunity now.

It wasn't moved. It's still on the union forum. Two similar threads were merged on the RL forum.
