    Over in England on a short trip so picked up a few bits and bobs;
Sleek Contour Palette in light, Maybeline Baby Skin Primer, MUA Undress Your Skin foundation in Porceline, Maybeline FitMe (?) Foundation in 115, Real Techniques Sponge. Two Body shop sprays in Mango and Vanilla and 3 lip butters, Seaweed facemask from Lush.

Feel like I'm forgetting some things as well. Will post reviews of someo f the above once i've given them a try :D

Where did you pick up the Sleek? I'm off to London at the weekend and might pick up some cosmetics. I've already a list for Mac in the airport!

Try some MUA too, they're in Superdrug. Nice eyeshadow palettes and lip stuff for dirt cheap, palettes are £4 I think? Can't go wrong!

+1 for this, their eyeshadows are quality for the price.

Yeah, picked it up in Superdrug! I'm absolutely in love with sleek, I'm glad I can't get it easily here I'd be broke trying everything.
Concealer palette and contouring palettes deserve special mentions.. I'm of the insanely pale variety and they're the perfect shades.

Is the Sleek face stuff pale? That's exciting! I saw a Sleek stand in Boots Liffey Valley a good few weeks ago, thought I'd go back when I got some funds together. Headed in and the whole stand was gone! Why would they do this cruel thing?! Does anyone know if its back? I haven't been there in a while.

Picked up Maybelline Colour Show Nail Polish - would not use again stains your nails somewhat very badly.

Oriflame Milk and Honey eye Cream - Very nice for something so cheap notice a considerable difference in the eyes.

And the best so far Snail Cream - Cant think of the name brand off the top of my head but its the job

They're two products I'd definitely be interested in, and the eyebrow kit. I got some Mac powder for contouring and I'm not really happy with it so need something better for pale skin!

I've really been into Benefit Cosmetics recently. I love their erase paste and lemon aid eyelid corrector especially. I really want to try their benetint as well. I also like their skincare line, although as I transition into a higher end skincare line, I'm not sure if I want to go with them or with Murad, which is more expensive but a really, really good product.

was in a uk airport that had boots so picked up a few bits. first was the hydraluron masks. havent gotten a chance to try them yet but looking forward to giving them a go.

the loreal was buy one get one half price. bought myself a eye liner marker pen and a miss manga in purple as i like the black one. the mascara is good. its not an in your face purple its subtle on. I have eyes that can look brown or green depending on the light and i find this mascara really brings out the colour of them.

the marker pen eyeliner is a bit meh. I find the only marker pen liner that doesnt budge is the soap and glory one. this loreal one is okay but nothing fantastic.

i had recently resigned myself to just being cack handed as i can never seem to get liner right but this morning i re discovered the urban decay liner pencil that comes in the naked one pallette. oh my god i'd forgotten how good this is? it went on perfect. im a moron for spending lots of money on liner pens when i had that at home!

I've just picked up the Soap and Glory For Daily Youth 365. Haven't even tried it yet but I've been put off after I opened the tube and realised it's scented. Has anyone tried it and found it overpowering/ok when on? Normally anything scented gives me the worst headache

I find that the smell fades away pretty quickly after application, I don't notice it after five minutes or so. It's definitely not overpowering. But I'm not particularly sensitive to scents so maybe I just don't notice it as much.

so I FINALLY managed to hit up a Wet and Wild stand yesterday (got i feel miles behind everyone else!). headed over to liffey valley and there it was in all it's glory. I was in a big rush so I literally grabbed and went.

I picked up a brow kit it said ash brown but the darker colour is nice and dark. I tried this on this morning and I love it. It takes a lot to impress me in a brow kit because i've found some of them rubbish (usually the expensive ones actually) but this is great. Its a few euro and comes with a tweezers, applicator brush, clear wax and two shades of powder. brilliant stuff.

I also picked up a nail polish i'd been drooling over (yeah the nail varnish spending ban went out the window). megalast salon nail colour (the bottles are like nail varnish porn they are so sleek and shiny i love them). I got 'I need a refresh mint'. i also picked up a fushia print glitter. im hoping it will be good - got some of the fergie polishes when i was in the US and i loved the gold one but the glitter one with stars is terrible.

Finally i picked up a balm stain a glossy balm thing. i fecked up here - im not great with lip colour so tend to veer towards nudes but I picked up one that was very light. its a lovely product but the colout i stupidly picked gives that 'foundation on my lips' kind of look!you can see them here, i picked the lightest one

re the eyeshadows - i hear a lot that they are great but I was wary of them when i saw them in store as they looked like they might have that slightly cheap half shimmer half mat thing going on and didnt look like great coverage. I just thought these dont look like they will compete with the mac and urban decay eyeshadow i have at home. am i wrong? how do you guys find them? if they are great and i was daft not to pick one up let me know which ones you think are best?

I was in Dunnes a few days ago and completely forgot to look for Wet 'n' Wild :(

Just ordered Philosophy Purity cleansing oil from Debenhams with 10% off code: XZ46

I usually use Dermalogica Precleanse but can no longer justify ~€45 for it so I'm hoping this will be a good substitute.

I know what you mean bout the shimmer but it doesn't really come off when on the eye. I got the comfort zone one and was v. Impressed. I've used 5 of the shades already and they all had great pigmentation and were easy to blend. For 6.50 it's worth the punt (or 4 for the 3pans). I saw from reviews that the limited edition stuff isn't the best though.

I've been using Aussie shampoos and conditioners for years, and I just didn't think they were as good anymore. I'm not really one for chopping and changing products either. Anywho, got this stuff and the shampoo in Penneys, and it's flippin' deadly. I recently bleached the feck out of my hair going from black to blonde and this stuff saved my hair. Thought it was just a once off but it's been about 2 months now and it's great stuff altogether. Think the bottle was under a fiver, can't go wrong. My hair is really light, fine and was brittle but that's sorted now.

Anybody get the cc cream which was on offer in Lidl? Any reviews on it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

Had an Ogra facial yesterday. Bought the peat mask and the nourishing moisturiser. I was told to use the mask for about 4 days continually before using it just once a week. So, ill be back with my opinion on the ogra products.

previously test ran foundations - Armani Maestro, YSL Youth Protector and Geurlain Lingerie de Peau with not very good results.

Can provide more detail if anyone is interested.

I dropped my ELF shimmer mixed colour bronzer down the loo the other morning so I got the blush/bronzer powder. I'll post a review. I was too overwhelmed to buy anything else. The eye brow kit looks a bit dark but I'm open to correction.

I ordered a Pur Minerals eyeshadow trio from M&S. Lady Luck aka Amber Mix on M&S. That renaming was confusing when trying to find online reviews beforehand. Quite pricey for what it is but the shadow did go on beautifully this morning. Admittedly it does not look like much now but I did have to plough through rain.

You get what you pay for; I wasn't impressed at all with it. It really didn't suit me at all, it looked awful when I put it on and irritated my skin slightly (and I don't have particularly sensitive skin).

Eyeslipsface have got me again, most of this is just replacing my old stuff. Giving the brow kit a go, I like the look of the stencils.
The lock and seal is a new one on me too, you put it over your eyeliner and it wont smudge, or something...loving the look of some of the bronzers I got, went for different shades this time and they should suit me better. Quality is great :) Ill post pics when it arrives, in about 2-3 weeks :(

Bingo, 50% off when you spend over £30, and free delivery. Only thing is it takes them weeks to get the stuff out to you. They have a big sale on anyway, so it came to £150 down to £75, bargain....kind of.
