Double wear users, have any of you been matched to a colour with the little machine at the Estee Lauder counter?
I got a sample today and she gave me 2C1 pure beige which seems far too dark. I'm usually the lightest possible shade in any brand- porcelain, ivory etc.

I think it makes my skin look dirty but I'm not sure if it just doesn't suit me or how I applied ur or even if it's the wrong colour! Any ideas?

I got colour matched at the Estée Lauder counter by a lovely woman in the airport last year and I'm 2c1 too. It's the best colour match I've ever had. I've repurchased the same colour again and still love it!

Ooh OK maybe it'll grow on me! Are you pale naturally?

I wouldn't be really pale so it might be a bit too dark for you! I didn't have a clue what colour I needed at all so was very trusting of the lady at the counter and she just happened to get it bang on. I think if in doubt try a different Estée Lauder counter or even a different person because the last thing you want to do is pay big money for foundation and then never wear it because it isn't the right colour.

That's a good idea, I'll try it for a couple more days and if I'm still not happy I'll get it matches somewhere else.

I'm ghostly pale but when she did the reading thing I was boiling hot and probably red in the face, maybe that caused it!

If you're ghostly pale, shell is the lightest colour in double wear.

This happened to me but I actually bought the wrong shade I was told I was but as I refuse to waste, I've started mixing it with mac strobe cream or the boots radiance cream (for every day) and applying it with a beauty blender and I love how it looks!

I got the Una Brennan Super Facialist Facial Oil in Boots and have been using it as a two step with glycolic cleanser and Bioderma micellar water (I alternate these every second day. My skin is loving this, best it's looked in so so long after a rough year skin wise.

I'm on the hunt for a new moisturizer for my new routine to replace what I use at the moment. Any recommendations? I've quite sensitive skin and always find serums gels oils etc work better with my skin than anything cream based!

The trilogy sensitive range is good, cloud 10 beauty sometimes have it as a trial size pack for €20 there's a cleanser, serum and moisturiser I think.

    Bought these on Tuesday.

I haven't used the root retouch yet, will report back on that probably tomorrow. My hairdresser is feckin impossible to get an appointment with so hopefully this will tide me over.

Used the Shine Killer yesterday under my Naked Skin foundation and I wasn't particularly impressed. Felt I got shine breakthrough sooner than usual and the foundation was sitting kind of funny on top of it.

Used it with the NYX foundation today so it might work a bit better. I can, however, report that the foundation doesn't "enjoy" being applied with a brush. I found it quite hard to blend and the brushstrokes were quite noticeable. I'll use my fingers to apply tomorrow and see how that goes.

I'm normally a big fan of NYX but that primer is next to useless. It doesn't really sink in, so you've got this kind of slimy siliconey layer under your foundation. The L'Oréal Infallible Matte one is far better for a 'drugstore' option.

Love the Stay Matte But Not Flat foundation. The shade I got was nice and pale and blends in great for me.

I agree here. I like the canvas it makes for putting on makeup but I don't feel it does anything at all for oil control and staying power.

I finally managed to snag the palette at last thanks to Bedlamaticable!! :D

Really appreciate the heads up! :)

Looking forward to trying it out now...if Debenhams don't cancel!!!

Well it certainly didn't perform any better under the NYX foundation yesterday.

Have the foundation on on its own today so we'll see how that goes. It definitely goes on a lot easier by hand than with a brush, anyway.

Yeah, so the foundation works way better on its own. Worst primer ever! Oh well, at least it wasn't expensive.

    Me again!

Well, the L'Oréal Root Touch-Up was also a bit of a bust. In fairness, it is designed to cover grey, which I don't have, I just wanted to hide my darker roots til I get my highlights done. The Batiste blonde dry shampoo would have done a better job, but they didn't have any in Boots the day I was in. I'll give this to my mam, it'd be perfect for her.

I bought the Catrice Glam & Doll False Lashes mascara after seeing the fab Karen from Lovely Girlie Bits rave about it.

I've been quite fussy about mascaras lately, previous favourites have been cast aside, non performing mascaras have been promptly binned and this past year the only mascaras I have been happy with are Benefit mascaras.

I've been using this mascara for the past two days in place of Benefit's Roller lash and I'm happy with it so far. Gives good definition, appropriate curl and length for daytime wear. So far so good. Love the lilac colour of the packaging too.

PS - does any know if clear mascara is made anymore? I was looking for same to bring on hols as I'm getting the lashes tinted, and don't want to bother with waterproof mascara in the evening, just wanted to curl the lashes and apply clear mascara. Taking a chance with a clear brow gel!!

Thanks for the replies about the clear mascara. I hadn't time to pop into Boots the morning I was in, just a last minute Penneys dash and there was no clear mascara for Rimmel, Catrice or Essense, so I was just wondering was it not available anymore.

Picked up the dragons blood nip + fab pads yestaerday, has anyone else tried them? Used last night and absolutely zero difference today ha. I'll report back.

Also got the essence lash princess mascara and my initial impression of it is very good!

I've used the serum and it irritated my skin!
If anyone wants them I have one full unopened bottle and one I used a tiny bit of once.

Picked up the Rimmel Colourist Mascara and Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 45.

Found I needed to put a good few coats of the mascara on compared to my Benefit They're Real but so far so good.

I'm just having a disaster lately with products I'm buying.

I've been using this a few weeks now and I see no difference to my lashes. I got them tinted 2 weeks ago and they are almost completely faded again now.

I'll continue to use the mascara but it's not what I expected.

I received my Colourpop order today ( I had to use a parcel forwarding company) and I'm blown away by the quality for such a low price.

I ordered some of their ultra satin lips, some of their lip liners and three eye shadows. Would highly recommend these products!

I have started using bare minerals, it takes a bit of getting used to following on from a mineral foundation. I really like it. I have been told I should use a primer but not bought one yet. Any tips on what I should buy?

Bit of a strange one for ye.

Does anyone know of any urban decay eye shadow palette that is not available generally in Ireland, but is available in the Dublin airport duty free?

I had a look on theloop.ie and the only palette I don't recognise from the shops is the XX one for UD 20th anniversary.

Sometimes brands have little airport exclusive products and they're not always on the site.
