Got sucked in to the Boots 20 points per euro offer last weekend, totally worth it though as I now have €30 in points to spend! Here's what I got in no particular order:

The Superfacialist Vitamin C cleansing oil – great bargain, perfect for double cleansing and my skin seems to really like it so far. The scent is quite strong but I'm enjoying it! I use a gel cleanser as my second cleanse.

Schwazkopf Colour Sealer treatment – needed something to inject moisture into my dry hair but after one use I'm not that impressed with this. I think the John Frieda version is a much better buy. My hair feels smoother but is oddly frizzy today.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Light – my holy grail, I tried the Double Wear Nude but it doesn't play nicely with some SPF's. DW Light gives me the coverage and longevity I need.

For my make-up bag in my work locker I got 2 Sleek things, the Lifeproof foundation and a Creme to Powder blush in French rose. Most Boots stores only seem to have the darker shades in the foundation and I wanted LP02 so had to go online for it. I've only worn it once but first impressions are decent, the texture is nice and I'm not sure about the wear time but it was really comfortable for a 12+ hour day. The cream blush is a revelation, gives the perfect amount of glow and settles to a fine powder feel. You only need a tiny bit but I can see myself buying this in other shades.

Should probably put myself on a make up buying ban now...!

Just make sure you use it with a hot wet face cloth, the balm isn't designed to come off by splashing water on your face. A lot of people run into issues when they can't get it off by splashing water. Hope you like it :)

I ordered from Lush yesterday - delivery is either £7.95 royal mail or courier is £10.95 which seemed like a lot considering I was only ordering the Ultrabland which was £7.95.
Of course to get value for money I then had to order some other stuff like the Mask of Magnaminty and some bath bombs but let's just skim over my questionable sense of economics!

Soooo I went into Lush on the way home from work this evening :pac:

I got the cleanser and just used it, it really is GOOD. I'm excited, I've really been struggling to get my makeup off lately.

Thanks white roses! That's what I would usually do! Just lukewarm tho so hopefully that's enough!! Ha ha mamapibkbear I through in some bathbombs to! Couldn't get the face mask I wanted to as it was one of those fresh ones! Might get that other next time!

Had 4 The Ordinary products sitting in my basket on Cloud 10 the last two weeks, I just bit the bullet and ordered. Can't wait to try them :D

I got the Jeffree Star Skin Frost Chrome Summer (in Crystal Ball) in a Beauty Bay sale recently for €17. It is really nice and buttery, but to be honest I'm not sure I'd have been happy paying €30 for it. It's massive so will last ages, but it's not THAT much better than my €6 highlighting palette from Penneys (which I get compliments on every time I wear it).

I just use cotton wool. Ultrabland is the gentlest but most effective cleanser I've ever used!

Elf is now being stocked in my Penneys. What's good to buy? I bought the blending brush.

  • Registered Users Posts: 856 ✭✭✭idunno78

The powder brush is good I use either that or the blank canvas f20 for foundation! No fall out or anything!

The lip pencil things are good so are there lipsticks. I used buy them and get hen sent over from America years ago when it all cost less then $5! The hydrating primer is another good one got that last year! Little is needed!
Will think of more stuff tomo!

I bought Ultrabland today out of curiosity following the great reviews here - just used it and I'm so impressed! I didn't expect it to remove all my eye makeup but it did, minimal rubbing required and the slight coating of the balm that's left on my skin is quite pleasant. It's a really relaxing product to use, if that makes any sense at all!
    It smells so lovely too.

    Hi

I looked at my make up bad lately and i felt sad. I felt I needed to upgrade my makeup badly.

Do after a lot of reading off I went to the Armani counter in BT's. I've s major bday coming up so I felt an overhaul was badly needed.
I explained that I wanted medium coverage and a natural look.
    So she tried
    Armani light master primer
    Luminous silk foundation #5
    Precision retouch concealer
    Luminous silk compact #2
I was very happy with it all. But it was very spendy.

I loved the feel of the Armani foundation brush but at €70 !!! Wow wat to dear fir me

So I got a set of blank canvas make up brushes , travel size to see what I think and a sleek make up I divine eye palette.

Lip stick n mascara will need to wait a while 😄
    .

I think illl order the lush cleanser ye are talking about.. sounds fab

I love those palettes... I have three now (Oh So Special, All Night, and A New Day) because my local pharmacy had them on offer for €5. I actually tend to reach for them in the morning over my expensive palettes because I find them easier to work with in a rush.

I was thinking the same that I'd stick with them.
I was very happy with how I got on putting on my make up today..

Don't want to start a specific thread but has anyone here ever got composite bonding done to their teeth?
It looks like a kinder, cheaper alternative to veneers.
It can be used for closing gaps in teeth, or if you chip a tooth, but I'm interested in it for purely cosmetic purposes, I want to get my front teeth lengthened and my surrounding teeth capped so they look more even and uniform. Its a much kinder method than the filing down that they do for veneers.
They use a similar substance to coat the teeth to what they use for fillings, it makes your teeth whiter, and the effects only last 5-7 years (and are fully removable at any time) so not totally permanent which I like.
Ball park figures on the internet tell me it costs roughly €100 per tooth, which is a lot cheaper than veneers.
I posted in the dental forum but I don't think it gets much traffic, as its a purely cosmetic thing on my part I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any experience with them?

So, I just wanted to note that I've been using the Lush Ultrabland cleanser for over a week now and I am converted. It takes all the stress away from taking off my makeup, doesn't dry up my skin, and my face has pretty much entirely cleared up (I had started breaking out for the first time since my teens).

My skin overall just looks a lot more even and calm (as in, I typically avoid looking in the mirror in my bathroom because with the lighting in there it shows every imperfection and discoloured area, but the last few days it's actually looked... fine).

I need to try out some more Lush products!

  • Registered Users Posts: 856 ✭✭✭idunno78

I'm not sure yet. I've used it all this week and it does take all the makeup of I think. Just nothing comes of the facecloth after? That's kinda putting me of! Is that just because of the type of cleanser it is or any one have any advice for me? I use image ormedic after wards.

Well lads on foot of all of ye raving about it I went to lush today fully intent on buying it, but the girl at the till asked me about my skin type and if I have used a lush cleanser before. I said I have acne prone skin with an oily t-zone and she said she wouldn't recommend it for me! She showed me two others, herbalism and angels on bare skin. I'm going to read up on them before purchasing though, but I am leaning towards herbalism.

Thought it was very good of her, I think lush staff work on commission so she could've easily said nothing and made the sale!
