YSL Dessin Du Regard eye pencils are brilliant, theyre very creamy, blend able and the pigment is great.

I have a YSL waterproof one that I love. Can't remember the exact name but I'll check later. It glides on (despite being waterproof), smudges really well if you need to blur the line a bit and is a gorgeous, inky black. Would highly recommend.

Just checked mine and it's this very one! Highly recommend it.

Just recently bought Mac strobe cream, has anyone used it and liked it? Its a waste of money imo, doesnt do anything but add a little bit of shine thats hardly noticeable at all. Might be better as a body cream but my body shop coconut body butter adds more highlight than mac strobe and its cheaper and smells nicer.

Never bought the strobe cream, even if it’s raved about online. I just don’t think that shiny look suits me. A touch of Mary Loumanizer sometimes.

I had a party so booked in at the CT counter in Brown Thomas as I had my eye on the pillow talk quad.
I’m not like my friends who are good at doing ete looks from a number of pallettes. This was basically a colour by numbers, which suited me. Plus I like that there’s no wastage in not using half of it like I do with my UD one.

She did a great job and a fool and their money is easily parted. Ended up getting the pillow talk, two eyebrushes and an eyebrow pencil with a spooly and highlighter attached.

Love the pallette, especially good for someone like me who hasn’t a clue. Wouldn’t get the eyebrow thing again, gimme brow is all i ever used before and will go back to.

Ordered the dreamgasm pallette for a wedding a few weeks ago and 1love it. Much more shimmery though but looks good in summer time. The prices are wild and probably not worth it for people good at eye makeup, but it suits me anyway.

I used to like it quite a lot, usually mixed it in with out creams or bases. The travel size is excellent value, but I don't think I'd pay for the full size version.

Yep the travel size is good value compared to the full size which is a bit weird, but not sure its a product I reach for much these days as there are a lot of illuminating products on the market these days. I think it used to be more of a novelty but there are a lot of competitors to it currently. If you're after major highlight, its not for you as the effect is nice but pretty subtle in my opinion.

Do you mind me asking how much it cost to get your makeup done there and is it redeemable against purchases?

I've had my make up done at a CT counter a few times (althought last time was about a year ago).

It was €35 for a standard MUA and could have been more if you wanted the senior person, but I always just paid €35 and took whoever was available. Its redeemable also.

I did buy a Vintage Vamp quad at one such make up appointment for €50 and I have to say, I wouldnt buy it again. I don't find that I reach for it much. I thought I'd love the shimmer shade but its quite hard and not that easy to work with. I've better shimmers in my Stila everyday palette.

I'm probably going off CT as a brand overall... its not that their stuff is bad, but I do think its over priced. Of the products I've bought, none of them have made it into my regular routine and I've never repurchased a product from there.

I've always wanted to try it, but find the price off putting so your comment is interesting. I've been wanting to try the flawless filter for ages, but can never manage to get a sample of it, and swatching it in the shop isn't going to do it for me!

It doesnt do anything for me. Used it on half my face one day to be sure sure and they were the same.

There was no charge, just had to buy a minimum of two products. So you still end up spending over 100, but I wanted to buy the pallette anyway.

I was quoted either 35e or 50e (I think half an hour V an hour) and it was redeemable against products! I was never actually charged for it though as I was buying products in excess of that (highlight, lip liner and lipstick!)

They may have actually said a price and then said or two products, and that was all I heard! I’m in Galway and rang them on the Thursday, for a Friday appointment. Could only get a 2pm slot because the MUA was a CT specialist down from Dublin for the day.
I don’t normally get my make up done because it’s usually radically different than what I do, but she did a great job.

Definitely agree that it’s overpriced, I’m a sucker for nice packaging too. I don’t really rate her lipsticks at all. They seem to just sit on the lips and transfer completely off on the first sip from a glass.

Mac are the best I think. I wonder will they be giving away free ones again on National Lipstick Day. I got one last year, it was some time around July.

I absolutely love CT flawless filter. Definitely worth the money IMO because a little bit goes a long way and the bottle lasts for ages. It's a holy grail products for me for sure.

I have the cc cream. It goes on well, has good layer-able coverage, wears well......but.....it's not my go to. I think the smell puts me off, as it is quiet strong.

I’ve been using the maybeline urban something something which is supposedly a dupe for the it cosmetics cc cream and LOVING it. Great shade range too.

I saw this and want to try it! Sinead from The Beautiful Truth was reviewing it, but I think I missed it on her insta story.

The fragrance is very strong, it does have good coverage, but it really disagreed with my skin (which is quite sensitive) - it caused me to break out massively.

She mentioned it yesterday, from what I remember she said it was grand but it’s not the same.

Yeah I saw that yesterday too! she said that it’s not an exact dupe but that it’s very close! I haven’t tried the IT cosmetics cc cream so can’t comment on similarities but the dream urban cover is really lovely. I’ll definitely be repurchasing. SPF 50, great coverage but not heavy or cakey and only €15. I’m actually mixing it (for a colour match) with the catrice foundation with the dropper bottle and it’s truly flawless. Reminds me a lot of double wear without the dry set matte finish which is a plus for me.

Oooh thats interesting. I am using a Bioderma tinted SPF (30) at the moment and its grand.. I do love the Catrice HD foundation though, so as a mix it could be nice. I also have the HD Radiance which I didnt like but hadn't thought about mixing it.

Oh that sounds like a good idea. I have that Maybelline dream urban cover but I'm not crazy about it. I love that Catrice foundation.

I have the CC cream and love it! I'm on my second tube of it and can't see myself changing anytime soon. I love the look and feel of it on my skin. I can't report any down side to it at all.

I also have the CC cream and adore it. I’ve religiously used Mac Studio Fix fluid for the last ten years and never strayed because I adore the finish it gives. I’d say the CC has a similar coverage but a more natural looking finish. I find them very similar anyway but I find the CC more wearable in this weather also more blendable. It’s mad because coverage wise there isn’t much between the two but the CC cream is less mask like on the skin. The only thing I can’t get on board with is the scent but thankfully it doesn’t linger. For reference I’m NW20 in studio fix and use shade medium in the CC
If you’re a studio fix fluid fan like me I’d say this will be up your street

Do IT cosmetics give samples at their counters? I am loathe to buy new foundations these days (because I have loads) but would be interested in a lighter/summer product. Probably wouldnt buy before trying though.

I’m not sure about samples but they do have a mini size. I like the CC cream but prefer the oil free version. The normal version goes very oily on my skin after a few hours.

I got a travel size sample of it in Arnotts for 12 euro - not at the counter itself but at the skincare section where they do loads of other minis

In Arnotts, only if they have proper ones to hand - they won't decant into mini pots for 'health and safety' reasons
