Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dead Battery or Something More Sinister ?

    Hey guys,

My three and a half year old MBP has been giving me a bit of bother recently. It'll only work from the MagSafe and once disconnected will die instantly.

But the fun part is that the battery is saying it is fully charged, the LED indicators on the battery itself also show this and Coconut Battery is giving me the following :

    Current Charge : 3658 mAh
    Maximum Charge : 3807 mAh

    Current Capacity : 3807 mAh
    Design Capacity : 5500 mAh

Age of your Mac : 40 Months
    Battery Loadcycles : 191
    Temperature : 30.3c
Battery Power Usage : 0.0 Watt

I've tried resetting the SMC and still no difference. I just don't want to fork out €130 for a new battery if it isn't going to work ...

What do you guys make of this ?

Man, that's a battery with about 9% of it's original capacity left.

It's quite old, so the battery might just have had it, despite what Coconut Battery is reporting. However it could also be a problem with the dc-in board (or whatever it is called now), which might point to a bigger problem.

I'd be inclined to think it's just the battery though.
