He must have said the word "We" 100 times today.
    We,we,we,we,we,we.
    Its not fanzone .

Do you even know who Mike Summerbee is?

If anyone has the right to use the term we in this context it's Mike Summerbee. Still I expect no less from the gobshítes on here.

I meant because Rooney's an established international with England.

Personally i thought Berba's vs Liverpool was better, but Rooneys was a screamer. Hopefully he can continue to kick on cos most of his general play wasn't great at times.

And that summerbee fella is bitter as hell, going off on a rant on Sky now!

As good as Berba's was, this will be replayed to death for years/decades to come - perfection!

If money doesn't buy the necessary attributes then why would spending more money make them any better?

My post was tongue in cheek . . You need time, a mixture of home grown players, cheap bargains and players/manager with the right mentality . . City thought that buying players was all it took (with their pathetic "welcome to manchester" jibes etc) .

Just very satisfying to see them shown up and thought a lesson in class.

    Heh, Summerbee:

"City had 60% of the possesion"

    - Stats shown to illustrate the 46% of possesion they actually had

    "I'm not one for stats"

Can't understand how glen johnson can keep micah richards out of the england team

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭sofireland

Just to clarify, i know Smalling is english too, my point is more because of Rooney's fall from grace, and his status in English football, meant he'd get it, even though imo Smalling was immaculate today.

They were both awesome goals. Both deserving to win games, and both deserve to be replayed for infinity.

The Cost of Man Citys Squad - 500 trillion
The Cost of Man Citys Wages - 20 billion

The Look on a Man City Fans face when Rooney Scores - PRICELESS!!!!

Welcome to Manchester!!!!!!!!!!! Giddy Up Rooney you little diamond!!!

Sigh, maybe it was too much to hope for a 0-0 which would have been perfect for the League challenge and FF challenge. Anyway... :(

SKY are sickening with their knee jerk reaction.
"Rooney is back","best goal scored in 20 years","reminiscent of Denis Law","Thats why they gave him the new contract" ,"Can you think of a better goal you've ever seen at Old Trafford (Ferguson) ,blah blah blah.
FFS ,great goal but typical SKY tabloid bull.

summerbee an embarrassment at the mo

I remember back in '93 when Utd came back at Maine Rd to win 3-2 Summerbee was on the panel and equally bitter. He went from proclaiming at half time that City would come out 5-0 winners to whinging outlandishly at full time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,688 ✭✭✭Nailz

Showed the Rooney goal again on Sky, and Summerbee goes "18 times I seen that".

Ha! I hope Sky keeps this up, it's the ultimate windup.

God, I'd love for Neville to be sitting beside Summerbee today.

Summerbee is an embarrassment in the studio,he's like a spoilt child sulking. If it was city who won the match ,with Tevez scoring a screamer sky would be doing the very same thing, showing the goal over and over.

Ah poor old City , they got a little too cocky and after Summerbee's ridiculously bitter moaning, looks like they will continue their classless rise to the top . .

In the meantime, while Fergie is in the chair at United . .

I don't think i have enjoyed a winning goal like this in a long time, not since Ronaldo scored the winner against Fulham a few years ago.

You have to go back that far?! What about Liverpool, September 20th 2010, Berbatov in the 87th (give or take) minute!

and that is why United will win the league.

they have the balls that nobody else does.

no matter how mediocre they are, there's always one or two who stand up and deliver.

as shít a season as he's had, and what he had today...today could be the day that is remember as the day United won it. and it's all about the unaccountable brilliance of Rooney.

i was in the gym watching it for the second half, the collective gasp was priceless when that went in. i almost fell off the treadmill when i saw it go in.

I was hoping Yorkie would turn around and tell that bitter bollix to shut up,for a second I actually thought Redknapp was going to.
Great result and what a super goal to win it.

Ah but the Fulham game was a must win and we needed the 3pts badly. Ronaldo picked up the ball at the half way mark and skipped pass a few players and scored in the bottom corner, Roy of the rovers stuff :D
