Totally enjoyed the match today until of course that Rooney goal :(
Great atmosphere in the pub for the game and had great banter with the Utd supporters in there!!:D

C'est la vie as they say and so we carry on..............

To quote a line from merseyside way......."there is always next year"!

Lol Howard Webb on the flight home full of united fans, good craic.

Was there myself, he was a good sport about it. Steve McDonald and Becky just added to the pandemonium on the flight!

On the game, still trying to gather my thoughts, so here is a random series of statements.

Smalling was immense, I think that is his first major test and he really stood up to the challenge. Dominant in the air, strong in tackle, accurate in his distribution.

The back line as a whole done well. The choice of O'Shea was a clever move by Fergie. Looking at the City side, they are huge and O'Shea added much needed physicallity. Kompany looked a beast today. He really done a job on Rooney until...

'The goal' was something I will never forget. Watching it on MoTD it looks like a replay from a game of FIFA or PES. Incredible strike.

You will have to read my weekly entertainment column in the morning.

Was there any trouble at the game today? A few Irish lads told me there was a considerable scuffle after the game at the East Stand exits.

I didn't know who those other two where. Only trouble I seen was 4 riot vans with sirens blaring down the road after the game so probably going to what you mentioned.

Wonder how this bloke feels now

    MBwvbY.jpg

I'm sure the bloke feels fine considering it was a setup image by one of the tabloids, not an actual City fan.

But I'll keep that between you and me so you're jibe isn't ruined ;)

A 14 year old City fan was stabbed (unconfirmed that it was by United supporters) but he's out of intensive care now.

There were a few incidents according the forums I've had a look at but that seems to have been the worst.

I won't lie, I ****ing came when I saw that goal. That was special. That right there was why I love football. My ****ing lord.

Kammy on twitter asking for suggestions for alternatives to Rooneys goal as the best goal scored under Ferguson at United.

I suggested the obvious, Giggs goal in that FA Cup semi- final and also Van Nistelrooys goal vs Fulham, where he ran from the half way line.

Yeah you're right; I'd say the guy who had this in his sig feels much stupider. :D

    Btw, heres what Schmeichel tweeted:

Pschmeichel1: @chris_kammy my overhead kick v Wimbledon...yeah I know it was offside, but if you cut in just before the wistle, nobody will know!
    :D
