Rooney will have to step up now, end of.

    two 4-5-1s against each other.

logic says this will be horrendous.

Cantona may not have had the longevity at United others did but his impact on the club was massive and is still reflected in where we are at this present time.

I'm guessing Rafael was dropped for O Shea as Rafael and Smalling on the one side of the defense is a bit young/inexperienced.

O' Shea and Vidic to either side of Smalling will be a big help I would say.

If ever there was a day for Rooney to start paying us back for acting like such a **** its today. I expect big things and I won't be happy if he doesn't deliver.
Time to start earning those wages son.

I anticipated Berba being left on the bench, but O'Shea over Raf is a joke.

Rafael is a hot head, better to have somebody steady in a match like this.

Cantona. Three man midfield and one of Robson/Keane as the anchor. Best and Giggs wide, Ronaldo to drop out.

They never seem to have the early games on Saturday. Today FM will have the 3pm game and Im pretty sure Newstalk cover all the games on Sunday most weeks.

As much as I loved Keanes time at Old Trafford, I'd have Robson in ahead of him every day of the week.

Disappointing to see Berba dropped. I can understand the formation but surely Rooney is there on reputation only. He needs a big performance today. I can see him being hauled off after an hour if he's not performing. I actually feel sorry for Berbatov. He must be wondering what he has to do at this stage.

O Shea is a big worry too. Would have much preferred Rafael to play. The only thing I can think of that he adds over Rafael is height from set pieces. Rafael is stronger in every other department IMO.

Robson > Keane for me too. Greatest United captain I ever saw. Very little in it though to be fair.Lucky to have had them both.

        OK definitelty going now.:pac:

        This Week's Show
        Saturday 12th February

        12.40pm - 6pm
        Manchester
        United

        v

        Manchester
        City

        Arsenal

        v

        Wolves

It's a major day in the title race. Pretenders Manchester City face champions Manchester United at Old Trafford, and we'll have live and exclusive commentary of the showdown on a Super Saturday on Premier League Live. That will be followed by a second commentary match, as Arsenal, who lie second, meet Wolves.

City have really thrown their weight around this season. After missing out on a Champions League place, Roberto Mancini spent big and has moulded a tough outfit which lies 5 points behind United in the table.

United were unbeaten until last weekend, but Kevin Doyle and Wolves put an end to that with a shock 2-1 win at Molineux. So Alex Ferguson will be hoping his men push the reset button and renew the push for a 19th crown.

Ron Jones and former Republic of Ireland midfielder Matt Holland will be in the commentary box for the Manchester Derby. Then it's off to the Emirates Stadium, where Ian Beach and former Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr will describe the action between Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers from 3.00pm. Last week we featured Arsenal's incredible match against Newcastle, when they threw away a 4-0 lead. More excitement is due this weekend.

As always, presenter Michael McMullan will take you through the day, and he'll be joined by resident expert Mark Lawrenson to discuss all the goings on in the world of football. We'll also have interviews, team news and reports from the other six Saturday games, so you'll be up to date as soon as there is a goal, a sending off, or a penalty kick.

Finally, don't forget to tell us what you think on our football phone-in, 'Live After Five', with Michael and Brian from 5.00pm until 6.00pm. We'll be reviewing the Republic of Ireland's performance against Wales in the Carling Nations Cup. Y ou can text us on 083 4100 102 - To go live on air, call us from 4.30pm on 1850 715 100.

Good point on the BBC live text.
A few of you are questioning Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to leave Dimitar Berbatov on the bench. But here's a stat that supports his thinking, courtesy of Infostrada Sports . Dimitar Berbatov has not scored a single goal this season against a current top-five side. In total only six of his 67 Premier League goals have been against one of the current top five teams.

Plus if they are playing one up front, Rooney is much more suited to it than Berbatov.
