So glad Martin Tyler was commentating for that as well. Made it even more special. I just hope it ends up meaning something and that the team holds out.

    !

Whatever they said didnt do it justice . .

MOTD will be worth watching for this goal alone. . Close the book on goal of the season . .

To score that goal in any game is exceptional, to do it in this game is remarkable.

It was an AMAZING goal but he's been muck all match tbh.

In fairness he has worked really hard and had good touches but some poor ones aswell. Still only at about 80% id say

Bit lost on how no one mentioned Nani's perfect ball though. He's been immense today :D

I can't believe it, City were dominating. Performance has been very encouraging no matter what the result, they have been the better team.

Incorrect, if you can't take your chances when they come, you don't deserve to win.

united have been clinical and they've also played well, I wouldn't say City deserve to win.

    I know, and 18 assists.

Is it fair to say Rooney's goal here > Berbatov's goal against Liverpool?

    I would say so.

    This.

Possession means fcuk all if you're not gonna create/take any chances with it.

To be fair to Hart, there was no way ANY keeper was saving that shot.

Two great goals but I thought United were overrun in the midfield today. United defended excellently though.

All in all a draw prob would have been fairer but thats football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Absolutely CHUFFED with that result :D:D

I know Nani or Rooney will probably get MOTM but for me it was Smalling....what a game he had..absolute beast with Vidic beside him.

Jaysus, the circle jerk over Rooney on my stream has gone into overdrive. Yeah, it was a great goal but he had a woeful match otherwise imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,245 ✭✭✭sofireland

Yeah Rooney might get it, but Smalling was immense in there next to Vida

Defo, Rooneys was against a top side . .

Smalling and Kompany the two best players on the pitch today imo.

Yep. I said I thought Smalling was a gamble and he turned out to do way better than I expected. Delighted to be proven wrong by the lad.

As for Rooney's goal, I think it's one of the best I've ever seen. Phenomenal to do it on that kind of occasion. Goes to show the quality he has IS still in there.
