Nice play again there. Some wonderful confidence being shown by Meireles.

I just get the feeling that if a move or two clicked that Wigan could quickly find themselves a few more goals down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,507 ✭✭✭Finical

    Meireles love the lad. :)

Would love a second one before half time could kill Wigan off.

wouldnt mind kuyt off after 50 mins or so and jovanivic on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,996 ✭✭✭✭billymitchell

Dodgy at the back there from Lucas. Poor pass previous to that from kuyt to Suarez which would have had suarez away.
There are going to be a lot more goals today I reckon, both teams look shaky.

Have to give credit to Wigan as well for their intent to attack, and for the nice play that they have come up with in spells. They have come with the intention of giving their all for a win, and are not letting their supporters and manager down in terms of effort and application.

We're badly indeed of a bit of pace. More managing fine but we'll be a different team next season once we've sharpened things up in the summer

Maxi/Kuyt have been very very poor today. Would like to see one or both of them taken off in the second half.

Was just thinking that if Kuyt and Maxi were taking from today's team, with Carroll and a wideman like Hazard or N'Zogbia put into the team in their places, then it would be a pretty damn good team with plenty of attacking threats.

Kelly has had nzogbia in his pocket so far, had to move nzogbia across. Pool should move Kelly across on him.

Nice free kick by N'Zogbia but great positioning by Pepe to make the save look easy.

Kelly is the stand out defender today for Liverpool. Looks far better and more composed than the more experienced defenders on the pitch in red today.

Jova for Maxi will probably happen soon into the second half

I hate seeing Moses making those lung busting runs. I can just imagine some papers using the "Moses splits the Red sea" line under a photo.

He will be singing at half time about a love he cannot have.

Or he may be wearing it to protect a facial injury.

Kuyt has a habit of slowing down our quick breaks, he always needs a touch, very rarely can think fast on his feet and see a pass first time.

This is light years away from the Hodgson era however.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,996 ✭✭✭✭billymitchell

Ok, we are winning, so cant really be too harsh on the team, but so many out there today are underperforming. Kelly, Reina and especially Suarez have been top notch though.

We probably will win this playing poorly. I'd like to see Pacheco on second half, just for a bit of run out.

Poor enough first half display, but I'll gladly accept a 1 goal lead.

Hopefully can play with a bit more fluency in the second half and get a second goal to put some comfort in it.

An undeserved lead at half time. I think we have been very poor. Wigan are all over us at times.
Maxi is dreadful as usual and should be left out from now on.
Kuyt is crap, I love his work rate but he has no class.
    Aurelio is just average.
Meireles, great goal but that's all. He's been poor today. I think everyone's been getting carried away with his performances recently. He has been good at times but he's not the fantastic player certain people have been making him out to be in recent games. Sure, he's improved a lot but he needs to improve a lot more in my books.
Sorry for the negativity, but it's just frustrating to watch.

    Suarez has looked very good.

What is Liverpools current best 11?

    Reina

    Kelly-Carragher-Agger-Johnson

    Lucas

    Kuyt-Gerrard-Meireles

    Suarez

    Carroll

You can see Kenny favours the passing approach, the build up isn't slow, players in possession have lots of options, better movement etc.. I could go on. Its the tactical approach that is vastly different.

It was Hodgson who claimed he could only use the players at his disposal. Dalglish seems to be maximising what he has alot better.

    Just an observation

Hodgson did not take over today, WBA's next game will be his first as manager.

Anyway who cares what he does now. We have been seeing the difference over the last month between a manager who has genuine talent, despite being out of direct management for so long, and a very average journeyman manager whose reputation was enhanced by talk and not substance.

Anyway the match is back on, so no need for me to talk about the man who claimed that nobody would be able to do any better with the same group of players than he had.

Bloody Moses again. He is determined to give some paper that headline.

Did anyone else hear Danny Mills at half time say that out of Dalglish and Clarke, Clarke has the pedigree because he worked under Mourinho?

    Words fail me.

Yeah they do, plus they're a physically strong side too which makes them difficult to play against!

We really need a second goal & hopefully their heads will drop.

    Meireles off for N'Gog?

    Bizzare change.

Was it not that they were saying that the appointing of Clarke was a canny move by Kenny, and that Clarke has pedigree thanks to working with managers like Jose?

As comfortable a 1-0 as you will see. Our defence looks rock solid.

Yeah he almost went as far as saying KD was following Clarkes instructions on the sideline. What a plank!

    Kuyt will score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,588 ✭✭✭daithijjj

I dont know why theres much surprise about kuyt lads, he is a great lad under the kosh and he will give 110% but in a game where the tempo is high with quick passing he is a liability.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,996 ✭✭✭✭billymitchell

Suarez is motm for me so far. Couple of nice touches from ngoal since he came on. Need to get Kuyt or Maxi off, its not their day
