Joomla & Facebook like box

    Feel like a fraud even posting here as not techinically trained) but someone might be able to help me.

    I want to put a facebook like box on a website- I have uploaded a freebie, added in my facebook id number and published it. Its on the front on the website but it is not showing all photographs or how many people are on the page. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong ?

    These are options that you need to set in Facebook before you copy the code into the Joomla module.

    If you go to your page on FB and click on Edit and then Marketing and then select like box. You'll see an option to show or not show faces. You then copy the code into your module.

    There may be options in the module you got to do the above. Do you have the name of the freebie?

    hiya,

    I posted the code from facebook into an article directly and into the html code behind it as well and neither worked for me . So I did a bit of reading and it recommended I install a plugin into joomla ( think thats the name)

    so I had to installed a "plugin" from jomsocial and one from here http://www.noahamolo.com/?p=282

    I installed them both and once I went into the module manager I just placed the page id number and position and then published it and it gave me the box in the front, unlike the code in http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/, it did not give me the option of photo's and I believe both jomsocial & the one from noah... facebook like box include photographs so obviously I have done something wrong somewhere ( am not joomla or IT trained so just guessing here )

    Are you familiar with modules in Joomla? There is a custom module that allows you insert the HTML code from Facebook and activate it.

    When you are creating the module, you need to have the JCE editor set to OFF in the General Configuration. This allows you insert the HTML code.

    I had a look at the module that you are using and does seem to be supposed to show "connections" (seems to be set to 10)

    Perhaps there's a code issue and your best bet is to contact the developer.
