Surprised Nasri is starting big risk to take considering he's just back.

I'm no fan of Giles' lazy analysis but he is right about Xavi not running that much. Not in comparison to his teammates but in relation to most central midfielders. If you looked at distance covered you would see its not as much as others.

He is a player who plays alot of one touch passes, plays in triangles with Busquets/Mascherano and Inietes, Villa, Pedro and Messi.

He even said it himself in an interview last week (prob where Giles read it) that he doesn't run and run and run. He lets the ball do all the work.
    You are completely wrong.

This article on the Champions League from last year shows that Xavi covers the most distance out of any player on the pitch - http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2010/04/07/1867655/champions-legaue-analysis-lionel-messi-is-barcelonas-heart

People seem to think that Barcelona is just about slicking passing when it's much more than that. Barcelona are successful because they work ridiculously hard and have a desire to win. If Barcelona was all just about skill, then Ibrahimovic would probably have gotten himself a Champions League medal last season. He failed at Barcelona because he doesn't have the work ethic or the desire to win.

Think there was an offside called, and then he brought it back for the free,

Good from Walcott, pity the pass had too much on it.

read my post again. He may run more than his team mates I don't deny that. Take a look at the averages of the players in his position at other clubs.

Not saying he doesn't work hard, he is just alot more economical

    Excellent from Arsenal,

Van Persie done well to get the shot in, good save.

    Walcott has started well,

    Song gets the first yellow.

rte commentary ahead of game .,,TV Licence me..........!!!

Cracking start to the game, Arsenal looking lively.

They could have done without the Song booking so early but it was deserved.

The video footage is behind the audio commentary,

They would be spending our license money well if they could commentate ahead of the game :pac:

Sloppy passing from barca at times

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I'd kind of hope Arsenal get a goal out of this start because Barcelona will get into their stride and create plenty of chances throughout the game

Sorry, but you're still wrong. Look at the article, he either covers more distance than any other player on the pitch, or at very least is amongst the top few. Xavi is a ferociously fit player who works extremely hard.

    Fcuking ITV commentary.

Arsenal on top but I expect a Barca goal out of nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,328 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Thought that was a foul on Nasri there,

Arsenal being sloppy at times giving it away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

    He has got to score.
