I'm really really annoyed at Eircoms products and services..

I pay for 25Mb BB every month and have to pay line rental (even though I have zero need for a phone) and this is the crap I have to put up with

    Seriously, what is this about?

Edit: Look at your star rating on the above chart...

As a company, do you think that is acceptable? 2.2 / 5

This was going to be a ninja edit, but it actually took that long to load it's now not :(

Why not move to another operator if the service is that bad?

    There is no other provider...

And the service I pay for should be provided... No?

If it's on the main socket, connect a pc with the ethernet, boot into safe mode with networking and run the speed test again from www.eircom.net/speedtest

If it's still low best giving tech support a call on 1890260260. They are open weekends too :).

What annoys me is that the solution is very simple, if only the Politicians had the brains and the balls to implement it.

There are minimum standards set down but Statutory Order as to the quality of a phone line.

If the phone company breaches these they are subject to fine and loss of licence.

The minister can change these by statutory instrument at any time.

    But hasn't.

Do you know what the minimum standard is?

    14,000 bits per second.

    That's right - fax quality.

So much for the smart economy, and the future.

You know what to do. It's a general election next week.

The only thing that's keeping them a float is line rental ,if that was gone the company would go to the wall ,but that will never happen with all the easily bought and paid for politicians in this kip of a country

    Thanks
