The missus has five watches of various types which need the battery replacing. Looking at the backs, there seems no obvious way to open them.

Is the most cost-effective method to bring them all to a watch repair place? If so, which one? Or is there a multi-tool that can be bought to open watches, then buy the relevant batteries online?

    P.

If you looked for the models online you might find how to open them, I have a torch and there were a shocking amount of youtube videos of lads fixing that particular model.

In the €2 shop in dunlaoghaire you get 32 watch batteries of varying sizes for €2. There is a shop on little mary street in dublin (the continuation of henry street going towards capel street), they look like a €2 type shop but do cutting of keys and car accessories over €2. The lads in it seem techy enough and could probably open them cheaper than a watch repair place would charge, and they have those same packs of cheap batteries there.

use a fork or something with a pointy top and lift off the back then go to the 2 euro shop as the above poster said and buy some batterys- they're fair good!
