I feel a little sorry for David Luiz and Ramires who, despite a monumental effort couldn't help Chelsea get 3 points.

I also feel a little sorry for Mike Dean who, despite a monumental effort couldn't help Fulham get 3 points.

Mike dean had a mare tonight, clear peno against malouda not given, a lesser tackle on a fulham player and he gives a peno, shambolic refereeing throughout the game...

Something really needs to be done about the referee's ive said it since the start of the season and its one game every weekend now, and mike dean is a usual suspect, he really should just put on a UTD top and be done with it!

Torres is another signing by Ambromovich:rolleyes: Ancellotis not mad about him, for his confidence he shouldnt of taken him off.. If Drogba had started I reckon theyd have won.
    CRISIS AT CHELSEA

Trying way to hard without the confidence.

He'll need a few goals and he'll kick on.

You are joking right? The challenge on malouda, numerous fouls committed by both teams not given, it was a terrible performance....

Not at all, if the peno had gone in, then yes Carlo would be gone.
Roman and the club prize CL over everything else

So his job hung on that point earned?

    SF gets better every day

Danny Murphy and Torres were competing for the worst player on the pitch.

    Torres won

Ah stop, it was incredibly soft, especially considering the one he didn't award at the other end and Eidur Gudjohnsen getting away with a 2 footed lunge off the ground.

Luiz reminds me of Rafael and Fabio aswell, braindead fouls constantly.

he was just fine during January especially.

he just needs to get used to the team.

My summary of the game would be chelsea dominated throughout but didnt create enuff chances, torres had a really good one at the end of the second half

Dont think the ref was the problem

Luiz was yer best player on the pitch tonight.

Agreed. He put in some deadly tackles, played the ball out well and I thought the peno was a soft one.

Ridiculous comment. If there is anythign chelsea need right now its stability. He does have some dead wood to clear out and he has already begun the process of that. I felt at the end of last season it was probably the last hurray for that team.
Far from ridiclous, your club is a bit a joke when it comes to managers, anything is possible

True but it maybe to late and they'll be to far behind the 4th place team.

I feel for Carlo, its impossible to work at that club with Roman there, I doubt Torres was even Carlo's buy

Luiz and Ramires well great tonight. Don't understand why Ancelotti keeps the same formation when things aren't quite going Chelsea's way.

Some really lazy performances tonight too.

    Exactly.

Not sure where the confidence thing is coming from tbh.

He scored 4 goals in Jan for Liverpool and was playing decent stuff.

    Yep and he got MoM!

The good thing is that we are creating chances for Torres, and sooner, rather than later, he will bury them.
Its not easy slotting in new players, thats why you buy in the summer.
But the opportunity came and we went for it.

Ramires is settling in well and Luiz is just sheer class, so many good moments, he can play winger, striker, the lot!

Ref cost us tonite and at Liverpool

He is lacking something for sure though, he should have pulled the trigger a few times tonight but chose to dilly dally or take an extra touch by which time the chance had gone, Luiz really was the star of the show tonight seemed to be all over the pitch at times pretty much every tackle was time to perfection but he does take a few risks sometimes, at least he didnt dive in 2 footed, i was shocked at that tackle and not even a foul given!

I agree, I think it's confidence. Not knowing the team that well or our style had nothing to with him missing the chance at the end of the first half. Purely didn't have the confidence to hit it fist time. How many times have you seen him take chances like that before. Needs to be given 90 mins and get a bit of luck and he'll start knocking them in.

New team. First goal is usually a great confidence builder. It's not beyond belief that the guy is actually lacking confidence so don't be smarmy and act as if it's untoward. It's a big weight on his shoulders until he gets his first goal.

    Liverpool isn't Chelsea...

Whats worse, a club where the owner buys a player for 50 million
or a club where the owners pay off an debt instalment payment for 50 million?

I know which I would choose!

i mean it could be confidence, i don't know the man personally, but given the fact he had a great January, and just had a club buy him for £50m.

his confidence should be just fine.

it's more likely pressure or just not knowing his team yet.

or by some miracle, please God, he's gone all Mateja Kezman overnight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,507 ✭✭✭Finical

I honestly think Torres has just been going downhill. Pace was a big part to his game but he seems to have lost a bit of it. He would chase defenders down all day like a dog back in his first few seasons for Liverpool and it led to a lot of his goals by winning it high up the pitch.

Under Kenny for Liverpool he was looking slightly better but still not at his very best. I think injuries have played there part with him tbh unless maybe he just needs a long long break from football which he should have in the summer.

Be great if he is a massive flop alright, jesus id love that, its just the first goal pressure though imo, once he settles and gets that he will be the annoyingly good finisher we all know

if you said spurs would qualify for 4th spot at the expense of chelsea or city and which team would i like it to be? one is as bad as the other from a spending point of view, what a dilemma?

    Long way to go yet.

2 out of 3 from Man City, Spuds and us for 3rd and 4th place.
Could be Man City who drop out, they've played a game more than us and we still have to play them, and we still have to play spurs again.

    Current position

Man City played 27 points 49
    Spurs played 26 points 47
    Chelsea played 26 points 45

we have better goal difference than any of them. Spurs the worst.
