    I'll get you next time Cork-man. :)
Hope the lamb was as good as it sounded on lap 8!

KC you are obviously not aware of the detail in the IAU rule book... you may find the following extract relevant...
47.1 In circumstances where there is a dead heat (without photographic evidence) the following will be considered in determining the finishing order:-

47.1.1 The proximity of the principal residence of each athlete, as the crow flies, to the finish line. The closer athlete given the position OR
47.1.2 The age of each athlete, verified by birth certificate, the older athlete given the benefit of the position OR
47.1.3 The overall looks, personality and fragrance of each athlete will be assessed and the position given to the one deemed to be most acceptable

Given that I was not asked for proof of address or copy of birth certificate, I can only assume that Section 47.1.3 applied!!

    http://statistik.d-u-v.org/search_event.php?&sname=donadea&Language=EN......
Official results are to be found here and when i get all your D.O.B. the results will be put in the world rankings, they are only in the irish rankings at the moment(sorry krusty, hope you printed it)).

I have provisionally put the date down for next years race on the 11th february 2011 and have re-applied for IAU bronze label.Next years race will have have 60 max competitors and the 5hr cut-off will still apply but there will be a marathon split for any one who doesnt make that....

I'll just have to take solace in the fact that I've moved from 805th in the 50k world rankings, to 750th, and have finally taken back my rightful place, one positon ahead of Lecheile. :D

While it is my intention to run one of these in the new year (assuming a non-death situation in the DCM), this may be a little early for me. However, if you are looking for crew/photograhpy, I'd be more than willing to help out on the day. It would give me a good idea of the setup of an UM...

edit...some photos of DCM 2010, just in case...http://www.poolbegphoto.com/dcm2010

If you get through the marathon OK and recover well. Just do it, slow the pace for the 50km and you'll be fine.

The only way you know if you can do it is if you give it a try. Plus, it's laps so if it's not going right you can call it a day quite easily. Go for it.
