Somewhere around Coosan or the 2 mile would be perfect.

Just about all the primary schools are mixed boys and girls. Most are "catholic", although they have lots of non-catholic kids these days.

Nice estates in town with bungalows include Whitebeam Av., Arcadia Court, Auburn Heights.

Hi. If they would like to live in the country - Glasson is a really nice village less than 10 mins from athlone. golf course/ 2 pubs (one voted best newcomer for food 2010)/ 2 restaurants including wineport where the tv programme the restaurant is filmed. There is also a decent centra shop. The local school is tubberclare NS which is a mixed school with 280 pupils and a great reputation.(they have a website). Mount temple/ Tang/ Drumraney/ Ballykeeran/ Baylin are all nice areas in the country (North/ North East of Athlone). If they want to live in town - id say Coosan is your best bet (Primary school is prob one of the best in town). Decent estates are Churchwood/ Churchfields/ Churchhills/ Bloomfield and anywhere around Coosan Point/ near the School. Ive heard a few negative things about Rindoon/ Caislean Riada estates in Coosan but only word of mouth.

I noticed there is a lot of houses around the college (Willow Park) for rent - very cheap but definitely a no go area for a family.

    Hope that helps

12 K out the Mullingar road, near this filling station. You wouldn't be going anywhere except in a car.
