    Hi There,

I've just started work on an application for somebody which will be commercialised and sold with MySQL bundled.

I've read that MySQL has a dual licensing model where you can opt for GPL or a proprietary MYSQL licence.

The application is going to be PHP based but everything will be bundled on a disc and the source enrypted for LAN installs.

Am I right in saying that I will need to buy a MySQL commercial license (~ $2000) if I want to encrypt my source. If I want to use the free GPL license I must make all my source code available.

Have I any other options (Databases) available to me where I won't have to pay a fee and am allowed to encrypt my source.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated..:)

    Cheers!

Postgres is released under a BSDish license
