    Have my Desire since summer.

Best purchase I ever made really bar my main pc, use it everyday for a host of tasks, cant believe i wasnt using a smartphone before.

    Sticking with mine for sure.

The only temptations I have of moving are the Google Nexus S or getting an iPhone to see what all the hype is about.

And in saying that the price puts me way off, I got my desire for €200 with a trade in, unbranded and unlocked. If Carphone warehouse do something similar with a release of Nexus S or an iphone i might be tempted, but for now my phone does all it needs.

Bar having all apps moveable to SDcard, constantly filling with space, apps need to move to SD card.

Don't get an iPhone, for many aspects its a big step backwards.

If you can find Titanium Backup on the marketplace (the paid version and root required[ u can use z4root app to root your phone]) you can mark all the apps and move them to SD card effortlessly :)

If the manufacturers can get their act together on the upgrade path then I'll stick with Android, otherwise it's sayonara.

    What's all this Desire Z and Desire S ?
I got mine last week, finally got rid of the stupid Palm.

But box just says Desire - no letter ?
It says on back of box model A8181 ?

I haven't even opened market yet, still setting up emails and internet accounts.. :) very happy with it so far....

anyone else pissed off the HTC took the optical trackpad thingy out of their newer versions? I use mind quite a bit on the original Desire especially on Mobile sites like this one when the text is so small to select

well the galaxy s II has my eye at the moment because of the duo core processor and awesome looking battery.

mainly battery is my issue with the desire so that would be a big bonus if i got 3-4 days out of the phone

ill see what is coming out also.. im only 6 months into my 12 month contract at the moment.. so its gonna be a while before i consider the upgrade i guess also..
there will surely be newer phones on the horizon at that stage anyway

Always thought it was one of the weakest features of the Desire, tbh... much prefer physical cursor keys like the Samsungs have, but I'm sure the new HTCs must have some equivalent, even if it's just on the virtual keyboard.

Gingerbread has a tab which is used to select text, works well.
Don't use the trackball any more.

Have my desire since May, will probably just hang on to it for another while.

Don't see anything from HTC worth the upgrade and I like Sense too much to jump to another manufacturer.

I think my next tech 'investment' will be a Kinlde

I'm in the same boat , dual core phones ? Depends on battery life and usability , I work off a cheap 7"android tablet , half the price of my original HTC Desire phone ,for general comfort use .. portability wise the phone is King. But using both , I will invest in a good 7-9" tablet when the time comes.... don't need any more from my phone 12 mths on.
Got a Kindle for my wife on her birthday.Excellent piece of kit ..pearl ink is almost unreal, amazing battery life.2900+ books ...she was a skeptic paper worm ..but now an e-believer.
