Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

    The Tramore Duathlon is taking place on Saturday 26th of February on the Promenade in Tramore. This event is possibly the largrest Duathlon in the country with excess of 250 competitors year on year.

    As always the profits for this event go to a local charity and this year it will be no different. Down Syndrome Ireland will be this years recipients.

    This is not a Tri Ireland Event and as such the dreaded One Day Licence is not required. The entry fee of €20 covers your insurance, excellent goodie bag and much more...

    To find out all the details just log on to www.transitionsevents.com

    Yours in sport;)

    Hi Rubs with such a large field of athletes will there be a large prize fund ? age groups etc.?

  • Registered Users Posts: 113 ✭✭rubs

    Yeah, there will be prizes for 1,2,3 male/female...1st vet, 1st junior, 1st relay team

    The reason there is not an extensive array of prizes is basically because,

    a.) The entry fee is €20 and for this each competitor gets a t-shirt, drinks bottle, energy gels, insurance, race number etc... which is quite good and amounts to a real value of over €20 ...so in some ways everyone gets a prize:)

    and

    b.) it is a charity event and all profits will go to the desiginated charity. In the last 3 years we have raised in excess of 20k for local charities and community/sports groups.

    Hope that answers your query

    Enjoyable and well organised race again,no t-shirt but don't really mind.Any sign of the results yet?

    Glad you enjoyed it...we were blessed with the weather:rolleyes:

    ..apologies about t-shirt but we had a bit of grief with the suppliers and they couldn`t make the deadline so as a consolation we put in the High 5 race packs which were quite substantial for a Duathlon...over €20`s worth of produce as well as the drinks bottle.

    Results will be on the website very soon...slight tech difficulty which won`t be resolved untill after the weekend...pics will be up on our Facebook page here;

    and more pics here;

    just follow links for Duathlon where every competitor is captured by photograher Gary O`Mahony

    Thanks again to everyone who helped out or competed;)
