Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have noticed that the sound level on my Humax Foxsat HDR is always at max when ITV1 HD or BBC HD is on. Is this normal or is there a way of getting it under control? SD channels can be controlled but not the HD ones.

    Strange.

Is it a fault with the unit or the HD spec?

It's apparently a feature as HD sound is always output at a certain standard level. Since the last software upgrade if one is using optical out one cannot alter any volume levels which is a total pain as HD channels output at a very dufferent level to the SD ones.

Thanks for that, I am still confused. I have only noticed it since ITV1 HD has started.

It is weird to have such a difference between two adjacent channels.

I replaced the remote control with a harmony 300 for 30 euro .The problem with the sound disappeared. The humax is a great box , but the remote control is poor enough .

Has the remote improved on the finicky operation of the original humax remote, with mine you have to be very precise in pointing the remote at the box to control it.

Secondly did you buy the remote on-line, were charging me €50 in pcworld today.
