The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON Fifth Round
    19th Feb 2011
    KO 17:15
    Ground: Old Trafford
    Live: ITV 1 & Setanta Sports 1

    Team News

Man United: Ferguson has confirmed veteran striker Michael Owen will be absent for the tie after picking up a groin injury in training this week.

Central defensive duo Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans are also unavailable, while winger Park Ji-sung is expected to be out of action until next month with a hamstring problem.

Despite his return to training with the reserves, Antonio Valencia is still a few weeks short of a return from a broken leg and dislocated ankle.

Second-string players Gabriel Obertan, Bebe and Darron Gibson could all be handed a run out.

Crawley Town: Crawley midfielder Scott Neilson will be absent after failing to recover from a foot injury in time for the clash.

Pablo Mills was rested for Tuesday's 0-0 draw against Wrexham but is expected to return to the starting XI at Old Trafford.

Defender John Dempster and midfielder Josh Simpson are cup-tied having played in previous rounds for Kettering and Southend respectively.

    Nice edit :-)

The edit was for team news, not my personal opinion, because I didn't get a chance to finish it off here in work!:p

4 or 5 nil to the reds for some reason I can't see Crawley pull a win out here especially at OT but if they do fair bloody play.

Oh sorry I must have misread the exact same comment two posts up...

I'm a United fan and of course I think they'll win. But the FA cup throws up a lot of curve balls

    A win for Manchester United.

I've backed Crawley to score at 100/30,think they might at least knick a goal. Can see a 4-1 United win.

Good price that! Will be shorter when the teams are announced.

Will only see the second half but looking forward to this alot.
Romance factor of it alone is great. The money Crawley will get from the gate will no doubt help the club immensley. Also being a non league club the feeling the players will have lining up at OT will be immense, once in a lifetime possibly.

Have no doubt we will win, hopefully Crawley play well and not freeze on the day, would be a pity to see this end up 6/7 nil.

Thought it was a great price seeing as many firms were 6/4 on both teams scoring, yet VC gave that price just for Crawley

Hernandez to score first, Utd to win 8-0

Crawley have tonnes of money though, they're basically buying their way up the ranks, so there's little or no romance in this for me. Their manager is a dodgy character to say the least as well.

I want to see Boom Boom Bebe play through the middle today.

    Prediction: 13-1.

Some pretty high scorelines in here lol, I'll go with a 4-0 to Utd. Rooney to score two, Nani and Berba.

doubtful, TodayFM and NewsTalk only have EPL games contracted afaik.

If you have a radio capable of Medium Wave you can pick up 5Live on that band.

    Dunno if it's confirmed.

Starting XI: Lindegaard, Rafael, O'Shea, Brown, Fabio, Carrick, Gibson, Anderson, Bebe, Hernandez, Obertan

That looks like 4 3 3 to me.

That team should have enough, however Crawley are going to be up for this.

I'm not a fan of it in the EPL either but we should be able to take on Crawley Town with any formation to be honest.

It really depends on the players on the pitch. It has served us very well in Europe.

What team would you play HS?

Going to throw €5 on the 0-1 after seeing the team

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Subs: Rooney, Kuzsczak, Fletcher, Smalling, Pogba, Tunnicliffe, King

    FFS Gibson starting

If he doesn't run the Show with carrick today he can fûck off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,953 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

I'm kinda glad Gibson is starting so that if he doesn't put in a shift, we can justifiably rip the **** out of him. He has no excuse what so ever today.
Also if he is crap, surely Fergie will see him for what he is.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,235 ✭✭✭✭flahavaj

I have no problem with Gibson starting today, he could very well be needed later in season if there's injuries. I do think he'll be gone in the Summer, but you still need to keep guys like this sharp.
