Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can't add a Widget to Home Screen

Running 2.2 on a HTC Desire.

Saw a video podcast on CNET about the power widget in Android but can't add it to my home screen. I have a blank slot for an app icon on the main home screen and there are several blank slots on the other app screen. Whether I press the '+' button or press my finger on a blank slot and then select 'Widgets' and scroll to the Power Widget, I get a grey message box at the bottom of the screen which says that my home screen is full.

If I try to add the calculator or clock widget it says that I need to clear space on my home screen but there's clearly a blank slot for an app or widget icon.

Just to test it, I added an app icon to the screen and then deleted it, I switched the phone off and on again but I cannot add any widget to my home screen.

hi there, not 100% sure but it could be that th widget that you are trying to add is larger then the standard size. the power widget mey include power/on off, wifi, vibrate etc and may be a larger style widget. you could try removing a few more from your home screen and trying to add the power one again. hth. if that fails try loading it onto a completely blank screen and see what happens.

the power widget i use takes up a whole row on the screen.
it controls wifi, bluetooth, gps, sync and screen brightness, so defo couldnt fit in one box. Clear off a whole row then try again. or add it to another screen to see the size.

Get launcher pro and you can resize widgets and adjust the number of rows and columns.
