    Hi
I have an elderly family dog (Labrador/ridgeback cross) that has a number of age related problems, blind in one eye, incontenent, weak, hearing issues etc

Just wondering what the options are when looking to put your dog down?
Does anyone know how much it costs?

    Any advise appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Z

our last one was €20, she was small and we took her home with us after. our vet is very reasonable with us though as unfortunately we are frequent customers with one thing or another;)

Ring local vets and they'll let you know how much it is. It will cost more to have the dog cremeted so ask about what options they have for this too.

Ask your vet to come to your home where your dog is most comfortable, last thing you want to do is cause unnecessary stress at their last moments with you.

    Thanks for your replies folks.

Might have to go down the cremation route as we still have another female labrador who is a bit younger than he is, they are great friends it would probably be a bit harsh on her if we buried him in the garden. I have heard also that foxes have been known to dig up deceased pets buried in gardens also.

The vet can arrange disposal of the body if you don't want to do either.
