Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

Just wondering (if you were in my shoes scenario)

    You have 5k to spend

You need a small run about car. Needs to be big enough to haul two Children and all the gear that goes with them around.

Looking at two cars - 1. Fabia Combi - 2005 1.2 Petrol with 55k miles.
    2. Pug 307 - 2004 1.4 Petrol with 35k miles

Would you go for the VW underpinnings of the Skoda?
    or
The lower mileage of the Pug?

By all accounts the 307 is a bit of a reliability nightmare, the Fabia is just boooring.

I'd go for a focus tbh.

    Thanks

Don't really care about looks, style etc (as you could guess)

Have been stung with unreliability and need to "make the right choice" if ya know what i mean!?

As for the Focus suggestion. Not keen on Fords for some reason.(Cant explain)

Is it the old - ignore the french option at all costs - argument?

    I'd consider THIS one

Immensely practical for hauling stuff and easy access to the sprogs through the sliding doors

    Hi
Just to let you know I have three children and a 2005 skoda fabia combi tdi, the best thing I have ever done (even though I'm trading up at the moment!!) but has never let me done, extremely economical, huge boot, maybe boring and I never loved it but its like a good solid reliable friend (selling to my sister forr 3,500) with 105klms, honestly great family car, good luck

    Thanks Peasant for the suggestion.

Ideally looking for a car. I used to have access to a Caddy Life.

No matter how much you tart up the inside, it was still like driving a van.

So for that reason, Berlingo, I am out. (Said in a Dragons Den Style)

    :)

Can I add a third car into the mix?

    1.4 Megane Sport Estate

Seems to have a nice spec (The Skoda is a classic and has no spec to talk about really, windy windows etc)

    Just wondering what ya's think.

Megane or Fabia or Pug 307???

    Alan
