There's no balance in that team. If your going 3 at the back you need either wing backs or a more defensive minded midfielder then what you have there

People will scoff at Ferdinand, but there's a major shortage of great defenders around at the moment. Him and Vidic is the perfect pairing and United invariably concede far nore and generally defend far worse when he'snot in the team. He's more inportant than Vidic really.

Edit: Didn't se the three per club rule so Lahm is in for Alves and Schweinsteiger in for Iniesta.

It was hard to pick out a top class striker thats head and shoulders above everyone else at the moment. Tevez made it because he's been the most consistent really and his workrate would complement the likes of Ronaldo nicely.

So essentially its a list of your 11 favourite players regardless of position? Your team reminds me of a lot of my Championship Manager teams, 15 strikers in the squad and no left backs

Why are so many people picking Essien when the OP says it's based on current form? His very poor form by his usual standards is just one of the few reasons Chelsea are off the pace. Cracking player, but in form? Not a chance.

The OP didn't say this was based on form, he said to pick for whatever reason, and then gave currently on form as one of a few reasons to pick a players, including a player being a favourite player. Essien isn't one of my favourite players, but I picked him because I think he is the best of the best in that position.

How can anybody leave Van Persie out? The most on-form player in the the world at the moment.

You might not be reading it wrong but you're definitely reading it with a different interpretation to me anyway.
