Just wondering, is it too late to apply for a working visa for the US? I want to go for the Summer and will do unskilled work.

H1-B (But I dont know will a level 5 qualification meet that criteria)

H2-B Is the main one Im looking at

J-1 Ive been told that you have to be doing a course at least 2 years and you are going back for another year so I wont get that.

Once your employer has labor certification, you can apply anytime of year for the H2-B. Keep in mind they need to show there's no-one in the USA who can do the job, so unless you plan on getting a job teaching Irish or similar, this may be difficult in the current economic climate.

Silja the latter part of your post wouldnt apply to a H-2B sure it wouldnt? A H-2B states the following.
"The H-2B Work Visa was created to allow people to come to the United States temporarily, mainly for non-agricultural jobs, in which the United States workers are in short supply."

H1Bs open in April for Oct 1st starts onwards (no employer is going to sponsor H1B for a summer worker anyway).

Do you have a job lined up? An employer must sponsor you for this visa.

It still applies; from the USCIS website:
"The employer must demonstrate that there are not sufficient U.S. workers who are able, willing, qualified, and available to do the temporary work."
