Anyone know what this is? They were meant to make an announcement on Friday but it's been put back to today...? Big act to play there soon?

Didn't hear of this at all o.O Where is it being announced?

If you're on the Dolans mailing list they sent out this on the 17th:

"We have developed a nervous tic here in Dolan's HQ this afternoon due to the fact we have some heart stoppingly good news but are bound to secrecy until later today / tomorrow morning so all I can say is please make sure and keep an eye on your mails as you DO NOT want to miss this one!"

Then on Friday they sent another email saying they were putting off the announcement until today and hoped word wouldn't get out over the weekend.

Just wondering if anyone had heard any rumours/truths!

Dolans is the best venue in town for people into their music, no doubt it will be something great.

True - the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same music.

Heard it's Kings of Leon for a pre Slane gig.

Jesus, I hope not! Saw them a couple of years ago and they were good but the last two albums are absolute muck

    Mumford & Sons. 16th May.

I hope it isn't them (kings of leon). They must have played a gig every six months for the last 3 years in Ireland. Talk about milking it. They have played Oxegen 3 times? the O2 about 3 or 4 times, slane coming up also.

Mumford and sons playing there, may 16th I think is the date!

Meh to be honest. Thought it would be someone better with all the excitement over the anouncement. Don't ask me who I thought it would be but thought it would be better than Mumford and Sons.

Yeah I thought it would be something a bit better, don't get me wrong they're really good but they're not for everyone ..seems a bit of a letdown!

I'm happy enough with that, will log on later to try for tickets.

Meh...very popular band alright but personally I find them to be as entertaining as an empty beige coloured room. Snore.

Edit: I'm glad Dolans are able to book bands that are the flavour of the day though, there will be a lot of demand and it will be good for business. Just not my cup of tea though.

    May 16th or March 16th?

And I too have an irrational hatred for them, Mumford should never have cheated on Laura Marling.

Wednesday March 16th. Tickets are on sale on Wednesday 23rd (2 days from now).
    See Gigs thread here.

Saw them before and they weren't great.. might try and get tickets to this none the less, could be a good gig if it's in Dolans

Mumford and Sons confirmed, just got the email from Dolans.

M&S... a bit of a 'meh' band alright and I heard they are a terrible live act.
But in fairness they are huge and it's a decent coup for Dolans.

Never heard of them before I read this thread.

Only googled them a while ago, they sound interesting
one of these bands that you kind of instantly take a liking to
    regardless of your musical tastes.

Could they not have got someone better? Can't stand Mumford and Sons, prententious crap and that song "The Cave" has ensured they will always get the mute button.
