Just wondering about e=mc2. We have many examples of matter becoming energy {nuclear weapons, nuclear power stations} but do we have any examples of energy becoming matter? Excluding the big bang are there any other examples?

One example that comes to mind is pair production. In pair production, a high energy photon interacting with a nucleus creates a particle and it's anti matter counterpart

In photosynthesis plants use energy from the sun to convert carbon dioxide into nutrients for growth causing th plants to grow.

Also, what kind of energy are you referring to? The human body uses the energy in food to create muscle, grow hair, etc. Or are you talking about electrical energy?

That doesn't convert energy into mass. It uses it to combine pre-existing carbon dioxide and water into sugar.
Isn't part of the E=mc2 equation the bit that dooms us all to a final entopic endpoint? Mass gets converted to energy until eventually there is only energy...

Neutrons have a half life of about 10 minutes when out side of an atom to form an electron and a proton

Protons may decay after ~ 10^32 years give or take a few zeros possibly to a positron (positive electron) and gamma rays

Electrons should be stable for a while after that

When heavy elements are created, energy goes into making them. Therefore they are slightly more massive than their constituent components (electrons, neutrons, protons). Mass has been created from energy.

In particle accelerators, high energy particles are bombarded against each other and the energy converts to matter.
