    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me please. I got a sent a Nokia E71 as a birthday present from Australia. I have a vodaphone ready to go phone at present and I tried to insert my sim card into the E71 but the phone wouldn't recognise it.

Do I need to get a new sim card or change network?

    Thank you.

Sorry I know nothing about phones.

What error message did the phone give when you put your sim in? "Sim card rejected"?

The phone most likely just needs to be unlocked, you can do this in a unlock shop for about €20. It will just take about 5 minutes. These are not the network shops like o2, VF etc. If you post a location someone which suggest one near to you.

When I insert my sim card and turn on the E71 the screen reads "Sim Card not valid."

    Thanks for the replies.

    I'm based near Rathmines.
