Lads I am sure you would prefer if boards wasn't advertising dodgy subscription competition lines that charge people €4 a week. See attached screen cap.

err isn't priceclub.ie the exact same crowd who advertise on RTE, TV etc?
[EDIT] seems it is they even have the ads up on youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/PrizeClub

Hardly illegaly if it is, sure if people don't read the small print they can get stung with charges but then thats the same for anything with T&C's.

Not that I like any of these subscription services, but then if there's a market and people are willing to part with their money they'll always be companys willing to take it.

Never said it was illegal just said it was dodgy and I thought that boards would not want to be associated with businesses who base their revenue on signing people up to a subscription service in what could be seen as a deceptive "free" competition?

You are right people should be vigilant but Boards needs to be careful because some people feel that these adverts are endorsed by Boards.ie as seen from the complaint in the Politics forum tonight of boards having a FG bias because their ads are appearing on posts in there.

You would nearly think that was a boards deals thing

    Hey folks

This is just an ad coming in via the Google ad network - they're not a client of Boards.ie/Distilled Media

    Cheers
