99 Scenic Rear shocks are gone, looked it up on google, is it really as easy as losening wheel nuts then the 2 shock bolts?

Most of them are that easy.
Heres a few tips, clean the bolts with a wire brush and spray some WD40 on them. Also make sure you do only ONE side at a time!

The upper bolt is a bit on a funny one. It has a head that looks something like a splined star, but I think a 24mm will do it.

Also those scenics have a funny habit of breaking the eye of the top of the rear shock on the drivers side.

Does the upper bolt go in vertical or horizontal. If it goes up vertical make sure you take out the bottom bolt first.
You can use a female Torx if it has the head that shamwari was on about or if you don't have one maybe a 24mm might just do the job!

The upper bolt is a 12 point bolt head rather then a 6 point. They are usually covered in road grime but I've never had one that was seized.

The reason they break the eyes is that the shock bolts should not be tightened untill the weight is on the axle, i.e car back on the ground.
