WTF? I read somewhere if he scored in the Premiership for WBA, he would have the record for scoring for 6 different clubs

His agent died, I'd say more of a knee jerk reaction to the news to be fair.

Bit of background - his agent whom he was very close to personally has passed away. He is grieving and doesn't want to play football at the moment nor does he see himself wanting to in the near future. Can kind of understand where he is coming from. Give it a few days to settle down and it might all change.

Only thing that should be reported is stuff from reputable sites (e.g. The Guardian, BBC) or stuff from reputable people (e.g. family members, agents, good journos, etc.). Everything else either shouldn't be posted or posted to for us to look at how ridiculous it is.

It's not an attack on you, but I'm just fed up of reading updates from ITK when in reality most of them are 15 year old wind-up merchants looking for an audience. There was even an ITK who came out and said as much last summer iirc.

In fairness, this is a 'gossip' thread. If we were only to post fact, from a reputable site, then we should only post stuff from TottenhamHotspur.com.

Oh, and it would be very very very quiet.

It wouldn't be a very good gossip thread.

What's the Tottenham connection to Nicolas Anelka?

  • Registered Users Posts: 385 ✭✭GS11

    Isn't his agent his brother.

    None AFAIK

Definitely when he left Arsenal his brother was acting for him. I remember being gobsmacked that the brother had received a seven figure sum for supposedly brokering the deal. Surely though, even Anelka would refer to his brother as his brother rather than his agent?

Yes, but talking about potential transfers and some blokes claiming they know the exact date, time and details of a transfer are 2 very different things. The former is something everyone can discuss, the latter is just bs posted from attention seekers. I followed a few ITKs last summer and they just spammed my timeline, contradicting themselves with every tweet.

    Are we buying Anelka?

Yes, we are buying Anelka. He's the missing piece in the jigsaw.

So Bale looks on his way out, so it DOES look like ye were spending Bale money before selling him.

No way is he worth 93m, that's outrageous money.

Its not about what he is worth on the pitch. it's about what he is worth to Spurs.

On then pitch Messi is worth about 4 or 5 times what David Villa is worth, Villa valued at around £5m-£8M, but £50m, nevermind £100m wouldn't buy you Messi's left testicle.

If it is the case, great business from Levy. As for Bale's value, if they are prepared to pay that figure, why refuse :D

Like any commodity he's only worth what someone is willling to pay.

From Spurs point of view, it's not about what he's worth, it's about what they can get Madrid to pay.

Levy's job is to not accept a penny less than the last possible penny Real will part with.

    Simple law of demand.

I think he is worth that money. Oh that winner away to West Ham last season.........worth every penny! :D

Sky Sports in cahoots with SkyBet again. Queue the Chelsea fans lumping on.

Reports his move to Spurs is done and they're just waiting on his work permit. Maybe his agent is trying to squeeze a few extra bob out of us?

That was my first thought. It doesn't make much sense that Chelsea would be in for him.

    Gianluca Di Marzio ✔ @dimarzio

Now @willianborges88 and his agents are in @SpursOfficial centre waiting to sign, while @chelsea offered €37M to #Anzhi. Incredible!

    Gianluca Di Marzio ✔ @dimarzio

While @SpursOfficial and #Anzhi were discussing about details (5% of solidarity contribution), abramovich called kerimov and offered €37M.
