Way below, dont think he has started at WBA yet this season. Average at best.

yeah, I never can understand why his name keeps cropping up here - for me he's not even a candidate for a spurs shirt.

    I rate him.

Would be a good squad player.

its odd how that the lads that we signed this summer, their deals were done fairly quickly, ( paulinho in confeds) took a bit of time but other than that, there was none of the crap, ie next 24 hours, seen in london, agent wants more, blah blah blah... so maybe, just maybe we will sign someone out of the blue...
    any wild guesses??

    Fernando Torres??
    £15m.

    i'd take him.

    Torres??? really?

"I was there when Torres scored" :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,443 ✭✭✭jobeenfitz

Jesus not Torres, He is on huge wages based on past form. Shur we still have Ade on big money who doesn't do much. Try to get the deadwood out not more in.

Keep Torres far far away from our squad

Would love if we put in a cheeky bid for Kagawa...could see him really fitting into our team

think ManUtd won't sell any of his midfielders. they would like to buy a midfielder... but don't get anyone :D

Is Erickson really all that though? I'm sure he's pretty good but if he's available for £10-£14M then how come he isn't beating teams away with a stick.

He's a very good player mate, have seen him a few times. He's only 21 so has plenty of time to get even better. He rejected Bayer Leverkusen already this summer as he doesn't want to play in Germany. He then turned down a big money contract from one of the Russian clubs. He's also had Liverpool, AC Milan, Roma, Arsenal and ourselves after him so far this summer.

He's had 25 goals in 112 appearances for Ajax and has played 37 times for Denmark since he was called up in 2010, he was the youngest player at the 2010 World Cup. He's a great passer of the ball and is capable of cheeky passes through the defense for a striker to latch onto. He setup two this weekend and scored a third himself for Ajax.

Here's a compilation of some of his games.

I'm not saying he's a world beater like a Xavi or Iniesta, but he's a very impressive player and as I said has lots of time to get even better.

If we got him, he would work great behind a striker like Soldado imo.

don't forget that Dortmund wanted him, but think the transfer failed because Ajax don't wanted to sell him.

10 mill for Eriksen would be an absolute steal.

my twitter feed going absolutely nuts that AVB has pretty much confirmed Bale is leaving for Madrid. I've always said I hope he does well at Madrid but his behaviour recently which has been similar to Modric/Berbatov makes me want him to fail...badly

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭Leinstersqspur

The best bit about all of this is we're bring in quality players and we haven't dropped any points. In AVB we trust!

So true. Compare this transfer saga to all of the others we've experienced - Modric, Keane, Berba, Carrick. All of these had a hugely negative impact on the club which took some time to resolve. This time around, the club has seriously invested and for the most part in players that were ready to play from the start, meaning the squad isn't far from being complete. Add Lamela (fingers crossed!!), another CB in Vlad and it's by a long way the best transfer window I can ever remember.

This is all before maybe Eriksen and who knows who else! With 2 wins out of 2 and an away NLD this weekend, who knows what could happen.

The squad is stronger and hopefully, although it was thrilling to watch, we won't be relying on one person to grab the draw or all 3 points at the death.
