Yeah I saw that somewhere as well so that sale would be great for us.

Seen similar numbers mentioned in a few places. A nice bit of business from Levy (again) if true.

Also @ the previous poster who claimed that letting Taarabt go was a mistake.. are you for real? He done nothing for us, bar a couple of dozen stepovers anytime he played without any end product. He looked good in the Championship in a team built to accommodate him - I saw nothing from him in his time at Spurs that would convince me he was worth a place in our squad.

I think he just means that we should've sold him for more money. A year later and the Llorente rumours still floating, please just let it happen!

I agree 100% with all that! Championship is a massive difference from prem.

Getting a bit frustrated at the lack of any real conviction in terms of transfer targets.

Clear as day we need a new GK and 2 strikers and all we have in so far that department is a freebie pensioner and Dos Santos Ver 2.0

Seriously concerned that there might not be cash around that we need to compete in the market.

We definitely have cash but we also have way to many players so we have to sell some to clear wages and space on the 25 man panel for instance this year Bale and Sandro both have to be put on it last year they didn't as they were u-21

Looks like Modric wants to join Chelsea.

Also, Juventus have made an offer for Aguero, would we be in a similar enough bracket to attract him?

That would be a step backward for a talent like him to join Juventus.

    Modric story on SSN

Onlt caught the end of it but apparently Modric and his agent have told spurs they want out of WHL. End of.

The reporter also mentioned the fact that Modric is on a poor average wage compared to similar players of his talent at other clubs - 35K.

35K .. surely they;ve got that wrong. If it true he should fire his agent as he only signed that 'improved' contract last summer.

If he really is on 35k, then he needs to get the hell out of the club. For a player of his calibur, he should be earning 3 times that. Unless Levy is willing to splash some cash on seriously upping his wages, he should leave.

I'm bloody well sick of it tbh. Stay or go, just make a ****ing decision.

Great deal for us if this one goes ahead..pity about Gio never really got going with us.

I really like the team we have at the moment and don't think we need many new faces but a striker surely must be bought?

At the risk of putting to much on this but if the decision to keep Lukka is true then it's things like that can turn a club into league winners. I won't be happy till September but it's so refreshing to see us not get pushed around.

Have to give it to Lukka for being professional throughout too.

Mata has told a Spanish radio station that he told Valencia he'd rather stay then move abroad.

Supposedely Leandro Damiao has signed. Don't think we would have bought him unless we had one ready to ship out.

Where did you read that? I thought a couple of other clubs were in on the scene now ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 30 Maynoothspur

Yeah I heard that too, we can't be having that our season could be over come January unless we get our striker situation sorted, plus he'll need time to settle in. We need a striker now!
Did you hear Redknapp talking about keeping Keano? God help us. Don't get me wrong I love Robbie but he just doesn't seem to try for Spurs it's like he's just there for the paycheck. Since he came back from Lpool he just doesn't seem bothered, actually its since he got married maybe she's doin his head in telling him to go for the big bucks etc.

Its Robbie's birthday today so he is probably just tryin to be nice!

I think we were the only club showing any real interest in him. i.e putting in a bid. The story with the contract was that the player owned 30% of his own contract with Inter, the new contract was buying him out leaving us free to buy him 100%. Not sure that is the case but rumours doing the rounds today from reliable sources saying its done. Not sure if its for September or January.

The interest for Rossi has real legs.. He'll be the signing to show Modric real intent for next season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,713 ✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

    i dunnno about Rossi.
I dont follow the spanish football all that much but it looks as if any reasonable player can score 15-25 goals a season.
    Hopefully Im wrong

He scored 32 in all comps last season, only others to beat that in la liga were Messi and Ronaldo iirc. He's got wicked pace and an eye for goal.. Exactly what we need. He's better than any striker we have!
