Can you see the Swans parting with Michu easily? He would be a fantastic for us, similar style team and an actual cool and clinical finisher, unlike Jermain! Have no idea where he got that rep from to be honest.

As for Remy, I've watched him a few times and have been suitably underwhelmed. Rumour has it he has a relegation clause in his contract but he cost QPR £8m and they're paying him upwards of £75k a week. I don't think he is better than what we have (could be wrong) and smacks of a deal Levy wouldn't go near.

Benteke should be our summer target. He looks a fantastic prospect. Big, strong, composed and only 22. Excellent technical ability and would add to our Belgian spine. Move for him soon before his price goes up even more. He's a (much) better version of Bent.

It's a deal Levy was trying to make for the last 4 years. Someone in the Tottenham scouting department is a very big fan of Remy.

I agree he doesn't look worth 75k a week but if he replaced Adebayor's wages I could probably live with that.

I just wish we could sign Salah in time to make his debut this weekend. He looks almost faster than Lennon and thats saying something.

The Sun claiming Spurs want £100m for Bale. I believe The Sun.

how much could we get for Ade, hopefully get rid of him but who would take him and pay the wages he demands

Considering he's the highest earner at the club it might not be a bad idea to just flog him for free which would make him more attractive to another club.

Hopefully some of the Russian money bags buy him.

I'd be surprised if we get rid of Ade or Defoe

I predict we'll only get one striker in, along with a winger and a left back

That would be fine, we'll have Danny Rose and Andros Townsend back too

Not sure we could afford the €200k a week;)

I reckon Ade will go. Hernandez isn't a bad shout. He has 30 in 70 (or there abouts) for utd.

Anybody decent getting relegated that could be worth a look? Remy?

Hernandez would actually be a perfect fit. Finally someone who can head the ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,746 ✭✭✭irishmover

I'd be shocked if Hernandez is sold.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,910 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

On the negative side he strays offside quite a lot, they'd never sell him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,746 ✭✭✭irishmover

I know it's a youtube video. I know he's got alot to learn as he's very young. However if we're going to sell BAE in the summer and require a new left back this is the guy I want to see come in.

Steve Archibald [now an agent] saying on Twitter that he had Lewondowski lined up for Spurs 3 years ago for 5m, but the club wouldn’t proceed with it. Player was all for it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,746 ✭✭✭irishmover

Alex Ferguson turned down the chance to sign Zidane before he came big... There's always stories of missed opportunities!

Possibly we signed Pavlyuchenko around the time Archi was trying to get Lewandowski to WHL??

Sam Allardyce saying the same thing. I'm sure there were plenty of suitors at that price and there will always be teams who missed out.

Alot of talk on the tweet machine last night that Spurs officials were at the Valencia game last night and that we're after Soldado.

    Also, Baines at left back.

Would love to see us wrap up some early transfers!

    Baines at left back...

I can't see Everton letting him go, but he'd be absolutely brilliant. Imagine a back 4 of Walker - Kaboul - Verts - Baines!

As for Soldado, he's a goal scorer and a good one. Having said that, he's what we need, so it's probably unlikely he'll sign!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,713 ✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

Baines @ left back would be awesome but if he became available there would be a lot of competition from united, possibly citeh and even others.

Tell you who I wouldn't mind us making a move for - Seamus Coleman. He's come on leaps and bounds in the last 12 months and is one of the best right backs in the EPL these days.

Are there better right backs available on the continent? - probably. But can we afford them and would they sign for spurs - probably not. He's young, talented and unlike Walker he's as good defending as he is going forward.
If anything he'd provide excellent competition and cover for Walker which might just be what Walker needs.

Baines will be 29 in December. For the fee Everton would most likely want, no thanks.

hopefully this summer levy will fully back avb with or without CL football and allow him to assemble his own squad.

i think there are still a gud few areas we can strengthen. we need a striker, midfielder, winger(2 if we lose bale but i dont tink we will unless a ridiculous offer comes in r he requests a move) and left back. not signin a striker this season has paid its toll so i think it has to be top priority this summer.

would love to see benteke or soldado as they hav been rumoured or both! and get rid of ade. i still tink we should persue moutinho again as i think a midfield of:

    sandro
    moutinho

    ---lennon
    dembele
    bale---

would be one of the best in the league. plus it would add good depth to the squad. i also feel we hav seemed to b relying on just dembele and bale for creativity in midfield and thats why we hav been abit lackluster. it would b great to get in a gud winger to cover for bale and lennon. as for left back, baines would be perfect but i dont think we could get him.

I agree with this, though I think things could look a bit different too. I'd like to see Sandro/Moutinho/Dembele for 2 of the 3 midfield spots, Lennon on the right and Bale playing through the centre with a new left winger in his place. We then need a clinical striker to finish it off.

Bale, Lennon and the other winger could swap positions very easily and as long as the striker is deadly inside the box I think we'd be very well sorted.

Get rid of Ade, Thudd, Gallas, BAE and one of Dempsey/Siggy. Get a new LB or get Rose back from Sunderland. Keep Parker & Defoe as backups. Happy days!!
