Indeed it will. We have some very athletic and dynamic players all over the pitch.

Pity Soldado is only 5' 10", maybe we can get him a pair of custom made boots from the same guy that does Bono's shoes!

Yeah but at least he's taller than Defoe so is an upgrade

Anyone a bit worried that we are stacked to the ballix with central midfielders?

Priorities should be a Centre Half and replacing one of Ade / Defoe, no?

...hold on, am I really complaining about signing a surplus of quality players, FOR SHAME!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,713 ✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

    Not at all.

Sandro is not fit, no pre-season games and only coming back from a very serious injury.
Paulinho might need some time to adjust to EPL
Dembele with be a certain starter
Capoue deal still along way from been a done-deal.

2 from Hudd/Livermore/Parker and Carroll to be shipped out in one form or another.

Def worried about CB, Only 3 players in that position and we know Dawson has certain limitations but I'd be more worried about Kaboul. Still along way to go in recovery before he gets back to match sharpness, and if he has another set-back you'd have to worry about him having a future at the club at all.

Yep. I've said it a couple of times. They will accept £6.5m.

yeah i like versatility in a player but exactly how good is Capoue at CB, as good as Thud, Song...etc

Our major complaint over the last few years was that we were very thin in a couple of positions so I suppose this goes someway to remedying that situation. There is a big push on for quality players in any event; is this our assault on the title or are we spending the Bale money?

    I really hope it's the former! :D

I think it's a Lewis backed push to both get CL and up our profile so we can get a corporate sponsor for our new stadium, we cannot afford it without it.

To get a good corporate sponsor we need to raise the profile of the club. To do that we need Bale to stay, for Bale to stay we need CL football, and to do that we need to invest in the squad.

Please please please ship out Parker!!!!! I don't want to see him in a Spurs jersey ever again, last season he was terrible, completely disrupted the flow of our attacks and wasn't much of a help defensively. And don't get me started on his one-twos he's so fond of playing.
Ship Hudd out with him, last season I was all for keeping him but he was disappointing throughout the season. Keep Livermore, at least he provides some sort of defensive cover and he's still young, and for the love of God do not sell Carroll!! He's only 21 and he looks like an exquisite footballer, he could develop into a right little gem in a few years.

I'd personally keep Parker, he's grand to bring on with 20 minutes remaining if he sticks to what he's good at. Add the Europa League and other cup competitions and your going to need war horses like him. Every season we get a blitz of injuries.

I'm not convince with Carroll. I think he could be another Livermore. Nothing tells me he's going to be quality.

Whatever happened to the Romanian centre back Chiriches, did that fall through?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭mickman

Perez says that 100 million is too much for any player so it looks like levy is demanding that much

Never known levy to back down so looks like there is no deal!!

Yes- The incarcerated club owner pulled the plug from his prison cell at the last minute. He claimed to never have heard of Spurs.[Not making this up either]

If as it seems we are keeping Bale,
Will we break our transfer record for a third time ???
    Willian?
    Lamela?
    Hulk?
Who do you think is worth it or may be worth a punt??

Bear in mind, Chadli,Paulinho and Capoue were never mentioned in our wishes...

    Not if Bale is staying.

If he stays I think, outside of another CB, we'll be done with our expensive players. I could still see us picking up a couple of £10m or less players, but we'll see

no way will he be another livermore, carroll is already better (imo) despite the limited game time he has gotten so far. carroll has better vision and looks to bring the ball up the pitch whenever he is in possession. he's a much better prospect and i hope avb involves him more this season

Carroll is a great prospect, needs to bulk up a little though i think, seems very light but has fantastic vision!

'Evening paper talk' section on the SSN App has Defoe linked with QPR.

Also has a quote from French manager Laurent Blanc, "Newcastle, Tottenham or Paris, I hope he will be at a top club come September" when talking about Cabaye...

Another CM? Great player and all but really?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,713 ✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

Doesn't add up. Where would we play him?
Maybe if we don't sign Capoue, but not both surely.
