It's one thing for a gay person to say use those words, it's quite different for someone to use it in an obviously pejorative manner. Context.
'Most of your gay relatives'? have that many do you?
As for the Judy Garland remark I did have a gay boss in the hotel I worked in in Sweden who loved her. Stereotypes are often grounded in some truth.
He wouldn't have had a problem with me saying that.

What standard do you assume I'm trying to set? think you're making a false assumption based on me OMG! not liking to hear the language of prejudice and hatred here.
I frequent another popular (U.S. based Ravelry) forum where anyone using words like I've heard here week on week would be banned long ago.
Reminds me why I don't go onto boards more often. Also reminds me how backward and narrow-minded this country still is
dont want to side line this thread, but the tolerance on boards for 'non-PC humor is a plus. however, i do agree that it can be a bit too tolerant at times.

Fair enough. I just see sometimes that when some people give out about others being too PC really what they want is license to be able to say whatever hateful nasty things they want, then when anyone demurs or complains label them as "PC".

    Sorry guys, /rant over

I'm well stocked up to either celebrate or drown my sorrows.

It's like Christmas Eve when you are getting a 'surprise' from Santa.

well I would agree that FG dont have the balls to tackle the issues that need to be tackled... imo... dole and public service costs need to be cut cut cut... back to pre 2000 levels.. and the unions need to be told to FK right off...

However I think the one thing that can be achieved from this election is that the Irish people can say to a corrupt/incompetent party that we still have the power to remove the ground from under you... and I hope FF is completely wiped out as a precedent for other party's who should pursue such irresponsible, cowardly and immoral policies..
