    Thank christ thats over.

Poor performance but we won it in the first leg.

Dawson and Sando immense, all the rest pretty solid.
    VDV shouldn't have started thou..

Well done to Harry and the lads. This is turning out to be some season.

I think we'd have a chance against any of the team left in the competition except Barca.

Dunphy, Giles and Co not impressed ... probably the first time they've actually watched a full spurs match.

    *************

Anyone else worried by Bale's performance?
He missed a few passes, his touch was poor and at one stage he kinda gave up competing because his last 2-3 passes were poor.

I guess he's just rusty after 6 weeks out but he's a player that thrives on confidence so I hope it doesn't effect him mentally

now that was torture, its a fantastic result for us watched it in a mates with 2 gooners gave them an awful time. the years off slagging they gave me was worth it to see the look on there face's epic. sandro was fantastic tonight..roll on the quarters.......COYS

Yea I'm worried about Bale alright. The scans said he was fine but he said he didn't feel right, hopefully its not just in his head. We really need him back and firing on all cylinders as soon as possible! Hopefully he will be okay anyway.

And Sandro defo Man of the Match for me, he was every where breaking up the play, delighted for him too. Hopefully he will turn out to be a great spurs player.

    I is well happy :D
    Rock on the draw.
What a buy Sandro has turned out to be.
Well done son. I'd like to see him get forward more though as I think he is capable. The you tube clips of him are now becoming relative to us now.
And again a massive thanks to Michael D. Awesome.
Gomes? Hope he snaps out of it.

We didn't play great tonight as we were nervous. The link up play with Crouch just didn't come off. I think the lads will have no fear next round as they probably will think that they have nothing to lose now!

    Are you watching Woolwich!
We are the Pride of North London.

They're just following the Irish media protocol in that ....unless it involves Man Utd. or Liverpool then its sh1te.

I'd cut him slack bearing in mind he's only played 25 mins since his injury lay off, plus, like with Lennon, AC we're doubling up on him.[/QUOTE]

I can honestly say I've never been more happier with a nil-nil draw than I was tonight when that final whistle blew.

Well we played poorly today compared to how we can play in fairness it's better then them saying how it's some miracle shows how far we have risen.

Dissapointed with the lads in the RTE 2 studio tonight aswel, they spent more time before the game talking about Arsenal than Spurs.feck them I swiched over to ITV.

Agree that the RTE crew were woeful tonight. Won ugly tonight but we r through and thats all that matters, really cant wait for the draw now, i was a quivering mess for the last 15 mins, take a bow Sandro Ranieri Guimarães Cordeiro, fantastic stuff from him tonight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Charlie definitely wasn't 100% last night he was really afraid of getting tackled you could see it every time. Which I think must of contributed to his bad distribution.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

I thought Lennon put in some good balls last night. Crouch I think should have actually scored early in the second half.

Gallas I also thought did well. That one he cleared off the line won us the match IMHO. Never thought I'd have any time for him but he's grown on me.

Ya that was a shocking miss from Crouch I understand why he did it but he should of been able to see that no one was there was just searching for his champions league record there he has 56 appearances and 30 goals including the qualifiers thats a pretty damn good record if he was doing that in the league ...... :pac:

    Gallas was excellent.

Lennon has hit form in the last few months and taken over since Bales been injured we've been very lucky and his crossing has improved immensely.

Sandro was immense. Deffo MOM for me

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

8 - Sandro won all eight of the tackles that he attempted vs Milan last night. Only four players have won more in a CL game this term. Gem.
    Awesome

  • Registered Users Posts: 183 ✭✭Anto12

Sandro was super - gave the ball away a few times but some of his tackling and tracking back was top drawer - thought the ref wa going to book him because every time he went near Boateng - Boateng fell .. happy out but Milan did play much better than at home .. and we kept a clean sheet .. thank god ... think its going to be very hard to make the top 4 this year .. still hoping but we will have to beat City or Chelsea away .. looking forward to the draw ... ( and avoiding Barca ) !!!!:):)

To be fair, Giles and Co had plenty of good to say about spurs before kick-off. They were praising modric, Bale, VDV and Crouch in particular before they showed the highlights of the aresnal game and all 3 said spurs where capable of beating Milan comfortable.

I think that like ourselves they were disappointed as they where expecting a better footballing experience then they got.

More then likely in the pot with us:

    Bayern
    Real
    United
    Chelsea
    Barca
    Shalke
    Shakhtar

Personally, I could live with not getting one of the English teams. I wouldn't mind Barca or Real for the glamour but in reality I'd be happy with one of the other three as I think we'd take them handy at home. Ideally Shalke.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,154 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

I'd agree. Anyone but the English teams. I know we can beat them on our day, but it takes something away from the tie if we're just playing Utd or Chelsea again. Bayern Shalke or Shaktar would be my preferred choice, but i'd also love to see us against Barca.

Not sure why anyone wants to see us play Barca in the next stage, sure, it would be a big big occasion but to be honest I think they'd do us serious damage :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,375 ✭✭✭Antisocialiser

I agree. I hope we get the easiest draw possible and hopefully keep the dream alive! Hopefully Real get Barca and United get Chelsea or vice versa...:pac:

Saw this over on Football365: An anagram of MICHAEL DAWSON is SHOWED AC MILAN :D

I really don't care who we get in the next round, no one left will fancy playing us anyway.

a few hairy moments last night, what an atmosphere, pity we didnt score but more importantly we are through to the Q-finals,Sandro was excellent as were 2 centre halves,MOdric in patches, a few players arent fully fit,Van DeVaart and Modric will be better again. looking forward to another rocking night at the lane. The chant at the end "r u watching Arsenal"!! was particularily sweet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,395 ✭✭✭Hatch99

    Magnificent.
Solid performance, job done, move on to the last 8 :D

Sandro and the central defenders were excellent. We were poor going forward imo, VDV was a millions miles from fit, but we did what we had to do.

Great atmosphere, and great banter with Mullo and Philon, cheers boys.

personally and i mean from my point of view only,

barcelona murder us. i mean really embarrassing stuff. i think that it could be so one sided it could permanetly damage some of the players mentally.

they passed ARSEnal off the park more so than ASREnal do to team in the prem.

would love to see the day when we grace the same pitch as them but our defense is so shakey at times we would be torn apart.

that aside id love to see them in the final against super spurs;)
