Lads if you are quoting figures for candidates can you please put the parties they are from in brackets as I am not familiar with who is from what party outside a few constituencies!

Dub NC, limited tally, only Artane Whitehall boxes, 3 seats, Labour Aodhan O Riordain 26%, FG RIchard Bruton 25%, Finian Mc Grath 15%

O'Riordan leading Bruton. Pretty impressive for LAB if it's maintained.

Dennison needed to be far higher to take the seat from Lenihan.

when they open the castleknock boxes I expect a huge change

I hope Mary gets in I think she is a great spokesperson for SF, she was on TV3 the other night and did a great job.

    IMO she's an annoying spoofer:rolleyes:

Early predictions put Fine Gael on two seats - Denis Naughton and Frank Feighan with the third seat going to Independent Luke 'Ming' Flanagan.

Labour are doing well across the country so far, lot of people have given them first preference over the Fianna Gael party.

The figures are also far showing upper middle class people across the country have voted in Fianna Gael as first choice, were lower class and lower middle class people are voting in Labour as their first choice option.

    Anything on Clare so far?

RT @oconnellbrian: Labour look like they're in with serious chance of taking back a seat in Clare based on 21% of tally #ge11 #clare

RT @RTEclare: Early tally returns suggest FG will hold two seats. Labour, FF and Independent James Breen in contention for last two. #GE11 #clare

And also maybe mention how many seats are available, as again, that's something a lot of people mightn't know outside of a few constituencies.

There doesn't seem to be a thread for this, post all your breaking results and analysis here.

Seems kind of unfair that the cc is a member of a party, giving a minor advantage.

"Labours Derek Nolan looks to be topping the tallies in Galway West."

That Tweet doesn't say it, but I believe that applies to just city boxes.

Other Tweets put O Cuiv at 6%, but again that's a city vote AFAIK.

I know the first thing a new government has to do is elect a new CC, so I guess it means that each outgoing government always leaves one sure thing behind. It's weird.

Cork North West tally on C103fm. No surprises here as predicted 2 FG and 1 FF the likely result but the 1 surprise is that Aine Collins will probably beat fellow FG running mate Derry Canty for the last seat. Canty was hotly tipped to win a seat here.

It would be great to see Higgins back in, always lively Dáil sessions when he attends, probably the only Irish politician that can hold his head up

I'd really like to see Higgins and one other SP member get elected for the singular reason that every time RTE make a comment along the lines of, "8 independents, including Joe Higgins," I want to smack them. Even if you are the only member of your party in the Dáil you are still in a party, one with a manifesto and other members. There exists a type of accountability that doesn't exist with an independent TD. Better or worse, it's not the same. It really shows up both the laziness and bias of our media.
